Or like when their DB got the Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty that gave us a first down on 3rd and 17 and led to the fg after Hunter stepped out of the end zone. Without that Michigan penalty that play in the endzone with Hunter and the ensuing 3 points never happen. Those 3 points come off the board.
No doubt the once in a decade Hail Mary are legitimate points.
There was never a doubt in mind that if Michigan didn't call timeout to force us to punt we were going to score. 🤣🤣🤣

I told my son who wanted to get a jump on the concessions - it will either be the most exciting play ever or nothing at all. GBR!!!!

Earlier in this thread you said we would be anywhere from 9-3 or could be 6-6 or 7-5.
Can I put you down for 8-4 also, then you're totally covered? LOL
😂😂😂Yeah, I am covering all bases!
Seriously though, after rewatching the game I was bowled over by Dylan’s talent. Will we go 9-3 or 10-2? I don’t know. Nobody knows. But we have the QB who is a championship caliber player and if we can find a way to get him better protection and produce even a moderate running game, we can do it.

As I was watching the game I thought we had a lot of players that we count on, disappear.
NU is not going to have a great year if some of those key players we count on don't show up.

I stated going into the game, IF we could get the ball away from Michigan, Dylan would probably have to throw it 40 times, and he did. Problem is, we kinda controlled the ball and TOP, but Michigan did a lot of damage in just 3 plays. NU running for 43 yards isn't gonna cut it.

Yes, we desperately need a ground game. I think we need to get Mozee into the mix at RB more. He has the most shake and bake.

I think we can beat a lot of teams with EJ as our RB.

Let's not forget Dylan threw the ball 41 times and was sacked 7 times, so we were on pace to throw it almost 50 times!!

I don't think we can make a living doing that in November with a non-existent running game combined with a leaky OL and a defense that gives up big plays.

7 wins, but 6 wouldn’t shock me either

8 or more… frankly… I will bump this post back up and say I am impressed.

Of the remaining opponents, only NW and UCLA seem bad, which means every other game is a loss or toss up.

Sure losses are PSU and USC, and I can see us losing two or three others so that puts us at 6-7 wins.

We could potentially be real solid if we get the OL and DL right. Both lines are just not high level right now. Hit that portal

we lost by 3 points to michigan (ten if you don't count the Hail Mary, but hail Mary's ARE PART OF PASS HAPPY)
this is not a Scott frost team anymore we have alot more to bring to the table now, even if it is pass happy.
if we play to our abilities each of the next 4 games, I see wins until usc...
We lost to a one dimensional Michigan team with a true freshman qb, and even though they were one dimensional they still averaged 10 ypc from the running back position, and scored 30 points, despite barely having the ball in the first half, and not having a mature passing game. Michigan was dominated by OU, and they did the same to us...physically dominated us despite not having their head coach or experience at qb.

I agree but he is only here because of pure luck...we just haven't recruited near his level whatsoever at any position on the field. Do we even have an NFL draft pick on the roster outside of Dylan? That by itself, in a time when you can buy talent, should be grounds for firing Rhule.

Regardless of Rhules record, he will be here at least 3 more seasons.

Need a new DC, one that doesn’t leave HUGE gaps in the field.. and a bunch of linemen on both sides… and another RB

trev made a good decision out of the coaches he had to pick from at the time,

ksu's coach seems down
Wisconsin coach seems down
we beat bc's coach and prime
only ku's coach seems to be doing ok
gruden still isn't coaching

rhule just needs to be more honest with himself come transfer portal time:
if you know 0 & 9 are leaving go ahead and put a red circle around DT
if you know teddy p been injured the last 3 years go ahead and put a red circle around LT
ect.

I'm thinking we are looking at 7 wins now. Nothing was changed/shored up over the bye week.. they tried to run a couple of trick plays, one of which worked, but MSU defense found ways to disrupt the line's blocking scheme, using the Michigan defensive playbook. Everybody else is going to do the same thing, until we have an answer for it, and we didn't have that today.. other than we did see a lot more screen passes, but that's just a bandaid for the real issues.

I do hope we get to 9 wins, cause that is what it will take to get another program to offer Rhule a job, and I'm banking on this to avoid watching his chubby spitty face for another season.

9 wins will mean a upward trajectory ....which I will take seeing the program went down hill when dr. tom retired..and dropped off the cliff when bo left

Really ? The defense gave up only 241 yards, they improved on run defense. The biggest issue to me is the o line but also Dylan for some reason he’s processing slow, waiting to long to pass and I’ll say play calling the running game isn’t used much to much passing especially in the red zone, is that on Dana? Or is Dylan checking out of the initial play to a passing one?

We will be in a dogfight against Maryland and Minnesota on the road. We have only played two real teams so far. Lost to one and damn near lost to the other. We are not a dominant team since we are mediocre to bad on both lines. I don’t see a single team left on our schedule that is a greater than 75% probability that we win. And the UCLA game is the only one that comes close to that 75%. Every other game is either a toss up or a probable loss, with Northwestern being a slight lean to us winning.
I could see us go 9-3. But it would not surprise me to see 6-6 or 5-7
UCLA will have more athlete's on the field

A fanbase needs to be able to put pressure on a coach at the weaknesses. The last two years we had statistically the worst OC, WR coach, and special teams coach. They are all fired or demoted, much of that due to pressure from external forces on Rhule. If the d is giving up the most ypc in the nation then maybe they need to invest more in the dline, get a new coach, new scheme, focus more on defense than offense with transfers and NIL. This is likely a wasted season when it comes to anything memorable, but it can be a stepping stone to improvement. Rhule's only hope as a long term solution is that he learns and adapts quickly to mistakes and cares about his job. Our last FOUR coaches all gave up on the job early, stopped recruiting, engaging with the media, the fanbase, and it lead to complete dumpster fires. Pelini basically encouraged his team to hate the fans and media and AD and they played with a chip on their shoulders...not exactly sustainable.

Watching the tape though, their qb Chiles was awful. He threw multiple interceptions by missing wide-open receivers, with the wind at his back. They squandered the wind in the 2nd quarter, They also dropped a kick-off, had a blocked punt. MSU is terrible, basically had one play with Chiles in...have Chiles run and it worked. Their backup then shredded us. This was a typical bad weather MSU game...even Frost beat them. I buy in if we can win one of the next two on the road.

I thought I would have a good read on this team by now and I don't. We can be anywhere from 10-2 to 6-6 which is a scary thought.
