I get WVU isn't a top 25 team overall yet...but I thought at least one coach or one sports writer would have put them in the Top 25 at 3-1 for a single vote.

Just keep on winning!

It is hard to believe that you do not understand the state of the current team at this point in the season. WVU is not going to get any votes this season unless the entire season of college football is a crap show and everyone is just horrid or WVU pulls off the miracle of 6 or 7 win season and gets into the top-25 at the end in the 21 to 25 slot. That would be amazing to even achieve that considering the transition the team is undergoing.

You do realize WVU may have won all of the game sit is going to this season, right? For many here following the team closely 3 or 4 were best guesses. To be bowl eligible would be mean Neal Brown has pulled off one of the greatest coaching challenges at WVU; the team was in that sort of shape when he got here. Hopefully you understand better now.

The game will probably get a good televsion spot. The refs will keep it close but the fact that WVU plays them before RRS will mean WVU is going to have to jump on Texas early and often and hold on to win that game.
There should be some positive buzz coming out of the game but the problem is Iowa State and Oklahoma follow.

Is that the best you can do? You weren't attacked, you were educated. It is obvious how you view being taught; it explains your reaction so well.

Beat Texas and will talk...

WVU is not going to beat Texas in two weeks. I hope we do not come out of the game with serious injuries are a demoralized team. I hope we perform well, but I do not expect to win this game. I do expect Neal and the team will do their best but the difference between WVU and Texas is too great to even think of a victory.

Neal Brown finding a way to create big plays will help.
Kendall is probably going to have to go to a quick passing game and this ultimately hurts you in the big play.
Kendall hasn't shown the ability to generate many big plays downfield

They are going to most likely abandon the run in that game.

Going to be hard to score touchdowns. Might get field goals and some touchdowns later on.

Unless the OL takes a major leap in the next two weeks and a run game happens.

Mmmh, Dawn Wells. Nice choice. BTW, WVUFanForever, Richard here was complimenting me because Mary Ann was the practical one that talked common sense, not the goof ball that Gilligan was. You hit like on that. Man, you are so confused.

So you are in touch with your feminine mind. That is on you.

I never met a female who had any common sense or even rational thought.
Way too emotional.

Look at it from the pollsters view.

1 win against an unranked NC State that was respectable.

-Narrow win to open against an fcs opponent at home where WVU wasn't playing well in any aspect of the game.

-Horrid loss to a middle of the road SEC squad at which point WVU was last in rushing and 7th last in offense in the country

-Narrow win against Kansas, in a game that could've gone either way up until the end. Kansas looks to be improving under Miles, but isn't there yet and has been bad for years.

WVU is going to have to beat Texas at least before they start getting any votes.

Well when Missouri gets off probation and is eligible again for voting, I’m sure they will garner a few more than WVU.

They have some votes in the AP poll. Funny how Missouri has never been on probation until they joined the SEC.

You have to be prepared to play in the SEC. Missouri isn't.

West Virginia isn't getting votes because they have a long way to go. Needs to start with athletes. Watch Louisville. Louisville could build teams that can win a lot of games but not every year. Probably will take 3-4 years until you are there.

This is a rebuild year. Neal Brown has to get use to the conference, his team and recruiting.
Not going to be right out of the gate especially with a team who showed a little bit of life but not much.

I don't believe The Mountaineers are top 25 right now. It's possible by the end of the season if WVU can win 6+ games to break into the Top 25.

But let's be honest this team is very young and will have extreme highs and lows. But that's OK and I expected as much with a new HC and staff.

The bye week is a huge positive to have before hosting Texas as home. Texas is a capable football team and could roll over WVU but also the opposite is true as well. WVU shouldn't be overlooked because of its inexperienced and first year HC.

West Virginia lacks the talent up front.
Their talent at QB is what will determine the game.

WV cannot force Ehlinger into mistakes pressuring with 4.
They probably are going to have to play deep in the secondary and do not have the front or LBs to control that 5 area box.

Texas can control the running game and pressure Kendall. Just matters how Kendall can respond and get the ball out quick.

West Virginia has always beaten Texas in superior QB play.
Last year was close and Ehlinger is much better. Kendall isn't anywhere close to Will Grier.

Kendall has the potential.

Needs that big balls I can win the game mentality. Grier had that. Kendall is another North Carolina QB so it could be there as well.

He isn't that mobile so it has to be with his arm and picking his spots. How well can he process information and make the play. You have some weapons and Texas won't be fully healthy in the secondary but they are deep. Losing Josh Thomson and Jalen Green hurt.

Didn't one poster comment on how Kansas puffed themselves up after beating BC? WVU has a dominant victory over an NC State that has only feasted on the little sisters of the poor. A one score win over the consistent Big 12 doormat with a new coach. A one score win over an FCS team, albeit good FCS team, where the Mountaineers were outplayed most of the game. And a 30+ point drubbing by Missouri. This may be all the wins for the season. I hope not and think that WVU does get another win or two. But let's have the Mountaineers beat a team with a pulse before worrying about whether they are getting noticed in the polls.

He didn’t insult you. His view seems to be WVU sucks and won’t win many games. They haven’t beat anyone. NC St may be a good win down the road but at the least will be a solid win. Absolutely nothing else so far. So why should someone vote for WVU as a top 40 team yet. Beat Texas or Oklahoma St and that’s a different story. Pitt just did that so why can’t WVU. With that said you have an anger management issue or simply can’t put high school behind you. The tough guy routine is hilarious but sad brah. I think he’s off a little on his view of the Big12. Winning 4 or 5 games is doable if WVU stays away from injuries. But you are the cancer of this site. Along with weirdo Texass, Pride, 5-0, rootcanal, the one tough guy that was threatening me haha and all of the handles you clowns have.

No potty mouth out of me. Just real talk without the French pastry.

Mark it down. ESPN/ABC will broadcast the Texas at West Virginia game at 3:30. Look for WVU to sneak into the top 25 so they can advertise a top 25 battle to up the viewership.

Ratings will be determined by how close the game will be.
Not the ranking of WVU. Football fans for the most part flip through the channels to find the best game.

If Texas is in a close game with a decent WVU team people will watch.

Oklahoma State cannot stop the run. But K State doesn't have the WRs that can create separation.
That freshmen Knowles looks good though so far for K State.

Just matters how many people Oklahoma State has to put into the box to stop the run without hurting their pass defense.
Oklahoma St has the best pair of CBs in the Big 12.

K State has had two weeks to prepare for Oklahoma State so they are at a huge advantage and will come out and try to run over Oklahoma State.

Been a weird series lately so you never really have an idea on what to expect.
Oklahoma State has had problems with Kansas State's run game and they are much better this year than they have been

WVU simply doesn't have the cache at this point to be ranked. Blown out by a mid level SEC team, barely eked out wins over Kansas-which has been terrible, and a low level fcs program.

One win over NC State which has not beaten anyone of note.

Long way to go to be thumping any chests. If they beat Texas then they'll get some also ran votes.

Who have we beaten that will give us some cred? NCSU looked bad against us. And, our D looked bad against KU. A top 25 team doesn't give up a 75 yard bomb against a team like KU. OR, allow them to almost come from two touchdowns down to press for a potential win. Yes, I am happy that we won. But, we need to do better against bigger teams before we get any national exposure.

Loosing to an almighty SEC and beating a powerhouse ACC school?

The ESPN commentators spoke so highly of Boston College, in bragging about Les Miles.

Guy is trolling.

Already has been pointed out that Missouri is only getting a few votes in the AP poll.
If Missouri isn't ranked WVU won't be unless WVU proves they somehow have improved since that game.

Beating an average to slightly above average NC State team and Kansas doesn't prove anything.
