My wife and I celebrated our 43rd anniversary this week and decided to splurge, at least for us. We've been to some good restaurants over the years but had never been to a Michelin-starred restaurant. We flew 1st class to San Francisco, picked-up a Porsche at Enterprise exotics and drove to St. Helena in the Napa Valley. Dinner at 3-star the Restaurant at Meadowood. Nine-course dinner with two dessert courses and bites before and after. The food was creative and delicious, and the service was great. Great wine list and sommelier. Not the least bit pretentious, which has not always been the case at other up-scale restaurants.
Now I'm not saying it was a Colasessano's pepperoni roll or Yann's hot dog, but it was pretty good.
