No one saying anything except East Surry and MA fans. Could it be that they both are shoe in's for conference titles and literally have no comp in their respective conferences? No shade to everyone else...but ES and MA are definitely the teams to beat and be measured by in these two conferences.

I agree print for the most part. Boaz is as good as it gets for this level. The question is what does he have left to throw them dots to. The o - line lost a lot. Don’t really know much about the receiving corps but do know they lost a few kids there as well. I don’t see a wide margin in this game. Lowman done a hell of a job with last years team. But again I think you were truly able to see there isn’t much gap between 2a and 1a till you get to the Shelby’s of the world. East was able to show that last year. Still not trying to dis respect the run east had as it was pretty damn awesome, especially considering what they lost the year before and moving up a classification. But again you have to remember lowman played a couple familiar foes in that run as well

I have said that we will know a lot about Mt Airy after its first 2 games. Guess what? The same is true for East Surry. In fact, it is true for Starmount as well.
The first two games will not make or break the season for these teams, but I believe it tell us a great deal about what are the real expectations for the "PLAYOFFS".
My guess, this game is actually more important to East than to Starmount. But if Starmount were to win, OMG what a win for that program. Likewise if Starmount loses but plays East really tight, Starmount moves up in stature.

This one will depend on which Starmount team shows up. East will be their same ole selves; Starmount since Grinton has arrived cannot seem to be consistent or find an identity. First year they did against all odds but they have struggled since. It'll depend on which team shows up.

If it's the one that scrimmaged West Wilkes who demolished West in the clips I've seen then East will have a test in front of them. Star ran and passed it at will all over West. Plus Starmount won on JV last year in an OT thriller. Signs of some fun games ahead.

If it's the one I seen last Friday then East will be fine. Starmount's run game looked solid but they couldn't pass the ball much at all and they will have to do that to hang with the big time teams. They also struggled with speed and Trinity had some long catches and TD's on them. East is way better than Trinity.

Time will tell if they had a bad day on Friday or it' a sign of things to come. I hope it's close I wanna see Starmount do well for a change. Their line has some good size so that might be their ace in the hole.
