Changed thread title--players come and go. Read full thread--at least, defensively, Rita has improved.

Supposedly, on Twitter, a 6'5 250 lb DE with Power Conference offers will be transferring to Cascia in January.

I think he played for Romeoville.

Good to see Rita get a good one.

Class of '27.

I am legit happy for the many first class Rita fans on here that I've had the pleasure to get to know over the years but I am grining to myself at the couple on here that have continually hammered MC over getting transfers and saluted Rita for not counting on getting transfers. No school will turn down a player that will get them better. No school above taking in transfers. Just is what it is, like it or not.

Tommy Mister made a big difference one year. This kid will definetely help them a lot. Now they need a new Mister

They had one with offers last year to come in January. He didn't play this past fall for Rita.

I think you were talking about the DE from IKE who transferred to Rita but then over to Richards. Perhaps he's going back to Rita. Richards has a solid group of kids returning (Harris and Valenuela are guys who could start at most CCL programs)

St. Rita needs offense, maybe some underclass playmakers are coming, they lose alot to graduation

They got a great RB in Johnson coming back that was the center of their offense last season and a strong WR in Donovan Evans. Couple other skill guys that's rotated in. They will be fine. No MC, BR or LA this season I'm told. I see them as an early 7-2 at the worst

Lombard, IL. WR3 with a Top 5 recruit at QB is apparently better than WR1 in the same conference

I'm still shocked Rita has no MC, no Rice, no Marist on schedule this year - are there any neighborhood southside teams on their schedule this year?

I thought I heard they are keeping Marist? They opened with them last year I thought it would be a 2 year thing.

I don't know what happened with Marist. As of the present time, Rita @ Marist is not scheduled.

Rita does not have MC or BR on the schedule, but I believe she will be playing LA in Wilmette for their Blue Crossover game.

Rita's defense should be very solid next year. As you posted, SR does have Brandon Johnson Jr. and Evans. They also have very good talent coming up. Line play on the offensive side will be solid, too.

For QB, I am just assuming this year's backup to Steve Armbruster, (#8), will be the QB. He is an excellent athlete (and tough) who is a very strong runner and has a good arm. We'll see how he progresses, but I think the potential is there. He would surely be missed on the defensive side, though.

Was a one year. They asked and Marist said no for this year. As did providence, LT and GBW. Lynch sounds like he wants to go national big time games week 1-2, which is great for the program and school.
Lots of moving parts there but I’d imagine if that doesn’t work you’ll probably see Rita play either rice or MC in week 2 next year but def not both.

PC-LT-GBW rejected Rita or Mc?

Both mentioned pages still say SR as their schools
Yes, waiting for that change in particular. There’s a few others too, both Public and CCL. I know some schools got big time kids in the door today. Not name dropping cause I don’t want the thread being deleted.
I guess once they go public with the move than its okay to be discussed?

Yes, agreed, I am shocked as well. I am hoping maybe a LWC or LWW for a potential Week 1/2 matchup.
I’ve been looking at some week 2 and 3 openings across the boarder out of curiosity lol Andrean, crown point, cathedral would be cool. I know years back they did a two year stint with portage.

Yes, I remember the Portage stint. Would be great, though, to try and get one of those Lincoln-Way schools.

Well, Indiana's not far at all, so those would be good games.

Now, that they added 16 teams to each class for the playoffs, I'd be fine with playing either MC or BR Week 1. Before it was about finding 5 wins. I think Rita could muster, at least, 3/4 wins with their schedule next year.

Btw, did you know that kid from Romeoville was coming? Or were you surprised?

Doesn't make sense. Like Maxson leaving a couple years ago to go to BR except he's going to team with a great QB but crowded
I got answers not assumptions but not getting this thread and myself flushed. #6 and #3 became primary targets as season transpired. #7 def made some plays. Inner circle wants more offers at this point and traction, they believe you’ll get that at a school with a QB like that and that much of a passing game.
Rita clearly leaning towards a run heavy attack next year. Maybe they were afraid of BJ getting 25 Carrie’s a game

Zero clue. Usuallyrights crystal ball said this player wasn’t being shopped around. Got the offers and stars which is cool but in my eyes. It’s still a project, only has one year of organized football experience.

I'd imagine BR is willing to play week 2 but after LWE may want a breather

With the transfer situation I am guessing publics that compete for students with a private will not play that private.

Look at the Oak Lawn season. Had a great year, then it crashed down to a team they compete for students with.

I hate the graphic art these kids are putting up on Twitter in their "new" uniforms.....or as this latest one is of him breaking out of his Rita uniform into his Montini uniform like he's Superman. I'm also sick of reading after "much prayer".....maybe he did pray a lot but I'm just guessing not many of these kids who claim to be leaving after much prayer really asked for guidance from above...if I'm wrong shame on me but I wouldn't bet against me

My thing, is call what it is. Whether public to catholic or catholic to catholic these kids are transferring for football. There’s a lot of variable and moving parts before IHSA approves eligibility. Why would you want to bring that attention to yourself? In the post you say academic career but the picture is a football uniform lol this isn’t a shot at the most recent one. I want down a rabbit hole, last couple years all these kids who transferred did this. Besides one successful program probably because they have a coach and admin team who said don’t make posts like this

The issue I have is when do these conversations start and who starts them? After thanksgiving weekend all of this takes place? Could be but find that hard to believe.
For this instance, the family vocally said it then by the time playoffs started they were threatening to leave and go to said school he ended up at. Not even hiding it, after the Hersey game they were screaming it to the player while walking out of the bleachers , loud enough so everyone could hear it. So clearly they were in contact with the coaches at that school during the season. Is there any wrong doing there by way of IHSA or just morally wrong? Just going to be the Wild West out there now

Maybe I am getting old but this shouldn't be celebrated on social media like you achieved something. I have no problem with kids transferring, it is what it is, this day in age. But the graphics and the write ups annoy me. But it is all about self promoting so I have to live with it.

It's monkey see, monkey do. They see all these college kids transferring every year and making a big production of it on social media and think they have to do it too.
