Am I missing something or is it going going to be on tv? The there's about 4 spring games on today but not ours.

Apologies. I didn't think to look there. According to Steve it's going to be a four star day.
I'm guessing Dion Pope

Looks like it's Staley and Tiano with the starting O vs Fitz and Williams with more or less the starting D.

Wish it would be Hill. Don't know of any 4* receivers we're after but that's gotta be our biggest need right now.

I think Fitz is the guy and it's not even close. He gets through his progressions and can hit the receiver in stride. He's more mobile and has a pretty deep ball. Done deal.

It's closer than you think.

I've been thinking this for a while. I think the battle is between Tiano and Staley for #2.

This game is depressing me. Looking at that schedule, this could be a long season. 6-6 will take some work.

Could be worse category: I can recall being bad on both sides of the ball and still barely scoring in spring games...

They very well could be bad next year or they could be decent but trying to figure that out from a glorified scrimmage is pretty foolish.

I'm not basing it merely on today's scrimmage, but seeing these guys in action did not help my opinion at all.

Judging a win total off a spring game is a bit silly.People where bitching about how poor we looked in the spring game leading into the 2014 season as well.

Putting together what I've been told by people that actually watched the first two scrimmages with what I watched today I feel better about a number of spots that I was worried about heading into the summer. The main worry is Left Tackle.

The main worry is left tackle, left guard, center, right guard, right tackle. If we could just be average on the OL...Oh yea, we need an outside receiver too. And two corners.

At outside WR Fred Ross and Donald Gray should be good. I think that Gray might lead us in receiving yards---that is sort of our pattern, Bumphis got overtaken by Tubby, Tubby gets overtaken by De'Runnya, and De'Runnya gets overtaken by Fred Ross.

At RB someone desperately needs to step up and be a Bad ***---hit the hole hard, do NOT go down on first contact, use good body lean & fall forward. We 7 RBs at our disposal (I am counting Deer, Shumpert, Hollaway, Williams, Lee, Murphy, and Gibson) surly 1 of the 7 has to at least be an average SEC RB.

Which brings up OL, in 2009 and 2010 we had a good OL however those guys were mostly all Croom recruits. In 2011 we decided to make DT non factor James Carmon our starting LT (which other than Center is the most important position on the OL) and the results were not good. In 2015 we decided to make too heavy TE non factor Rufus Warren our starting LT and the result was simply just a 17 load of sacks.

We have 1 wr that is 6'5" the rest is 6'2" or less and I don't see a whole lot of speedsters in there either. I hope Dan knows what he's doing because it doesn't look good.

I agree with you and am on the same page with the majority of your post. Unfortunately, you need to count Dear out of the RB mix. It has been evident that they are dead set on him being a wide receiver, unfortunately. I think he is the best RB candidate on the team. Gibson and Murphy looked good today. Lee looked good last spring but didn't do anything in the fall. I, personally, think Aeris Williams will be the guy this fall.

Please let us know at what point it is no longer "silly" to be making preseason predictions.

I think you're right on the speed. Hopefully with Gray and Ross back out there, we'll look better.

We're cashing in outside WRs for TEs this year. I think it could actually be a bright spot for the team too. We have a lot of size and talent at that spot, but not much experience.

Mack Brown, talking about Spring games

Say: It's for the fans... You hope you get thru it, and nobody gets hurt.

Your not going to show anything, that you have, or plan to do.
