The problem with Rattler (and other athletes selling their image) is that they will now be treated like paid professional athletes who don’t perform. Booing will be minor compared to the social media fallout.

Rattler is headed down a bad path. NIL is going to ruin him if he doesn't get off the entitlement trip ASAP. Just ask around the Norman bar scene if you want to know what's up.

I think that the whole money thing is going to screw up a lot of bigger programs , I know it seemed like it would make them better but all it is doing is turning them into entitled and selfish players. There are going to be a lot more “ upsets “ now , just watch .

I had people in Norman laughing at me when I told them Williams is better than Rattler and you will be begging for him by the Texas game...

But, the Norman bar scene is hopping now and the money is flowing back into the hands of players.. it honestly makes the old days look tame.

The fun thing in all of this is that Lincoln Riley will be unable to control it. The crowd will turn on him soon enough.

Just like the 60’s and early 70’s booster $$$ will be uncontrolled, NCAA is neutered and will make college football and basketball dirtier than it has been. If things are to get back in some semblance of control the NFL and NBA need to take kids from HS that have little interest in school into a minor league program and use the same criteria MLB - sign out of HS or wait until a three to four year period to become eligible for the league. The NCAA schools need to step up and hold solid not make exceptions to their entrance requirements. There will still be dirty money by boosters under NIL but at least the players in the schools will be legitimate students.

I totally agree. Rattler has talent but something is missing maybe a brain? OU fans will turn on Riley soon.

Truly what is the difference between Kliff Kingsbury and Lincoln Riley. Lincoln has better players. Kingsbury lost at Tech. The OU freight train of a program wins usually no matter who's driving the bus. Besides beating Texas Riley has lost all his big time games.

No Running Backs and an overated QB Sooners could be in for a long season.

GO TU!!!!

I heard on a telecast that OU only has 2 scholarship Running Backs on it’s roster. That’s an amazing stat!

I have got to think NFL scouts and GMs will come to love the NIL deal. How many top picks end up becoming tainted by the almighty $$$ and the over inflated ego that comes with it in the first few years of being in the league? I would think many of those problems come to light real quick or at least show how some of these kids are or are not able to handle it and the on hangers around them. I think it will ultimately ruin college football, but in the mean time some highly touted players will show their inability to handle having money and fizzle out before they make it to the NFL.

They lost the projected starter like a week before the season started and he went back to LSU.

Also, the WRs. I don't see any stud WRs in this group....at least they're not there yet. No CeeDee Lamb, no Hollywood Brown. Look at how many good WRs OU has sent to the NFL the past 3-4 seasons (not to mention monster TEs). Riley's offense is best when it has a lot of dynamic players at the skill position, not just the QB and right now OU lacks those playmakers mostly because they are so inexperienced.

if Rattler leaves, he will transfer to Arizona St.
If he leaves? If Caleb Williams starts next week then Rattlers career at OU is done. The crowd booed him during the two point try. They have been booing this kid all season. They don’t want him there and if the boosters tell Riley he is done then he is done.

matter of fact I am more confident he won’t be in an OU uniform then I am that Monty will be in a TU polo.

Read some quotes from his father. Seems dad is way over the top. This poor kid is probably feeling pressure all the way around. Nothing worse than a parent that refers to his son as WE…… I hope the best for the young man.

I wonder how that NIL is working out for Rattler now?

Under the policy, athletes cannot accept NIL deals unless they play, compensation cannot be contingent upon their enrollment at a particular school or their athletic achievement and athletes cannot accept payment from their institution in exchange for use of their name, image or likeness.
