That guy is the biggest phony fraud in coaching and he's about to parlay what little he's done into a 10 million a year job at a true blue blood program. Unreal
I like rhule, he just did'nt seem to say he isn't leaving...so I want to be as prepared as possible...

He's not leaving when he's now actively recruiting the Penn State decommits and transfers. What he might be doing however is leaving open the possibility of leaving in order just to get boosters and alums to invest more money for his recruiting purposes. That's what seems to be on his mind from today's presser.

I’ve been saying it won’t be Rhule that takes us to the next level….it will be the guy after him. If Rhule does leave by end of this year he will have accomplished his task of improving Nebraska, much better off than when he arrived.

Well it took cheating to a new level for them to ‘win’ that. Only the Michigan fan base considers that as a legit championship.
Penn state has 1982 (where the refs robbed Nebraska of a victory over Penn Stafe by ruling a pass caught inbounds that was not close to be in bounds) and in 1986.
He’d be foolish to say he’s not interested or just say nothing, that’s how the game is played in the coaching world. I’m sure he’ll get a nice pay raise

I appreciate your thoughts here. I first saw the offer to the former PSU running back commit and wondered why Rhule would do that if he was entertaining the idea of taking the PSU job. Then - he doesn’t say anything committal or not about the job. But what he did say was - I want more money for players. So reading between the lines he’s using this as an opportunity to improve his current team.
Ped State will not go after Ruhle. I just do not see it. Going after a coach who is 17-14 and about .500 for his career smells of the Bo gets fired and Mr. Rodgers gets hired debacle here in past years. They would be going backward. The AD would be tarred and feathered if that blew up. I could see Drinkwitz being a candidate. Cignetti of course. Best guess is Matt is trolling for an extension and a raise.
Penn St has a nice little program, but come on. You better hope he loves that school, because it would be hard taking a lesser job.
There is a downside to this drama. NU could stumble down the stretch...limp to a 7-5 type record, in which case, PSU would never hire him. Then NU have to face the possibility of being stuck with a guy whose ceiling here may be around 7 wins.
