Taking my son to his first Clemson game Friday. It’s been 6-7 years since I’ve been to one myself. Where is the best place to park around the field? Game is at 8 and we plan on getting there around 4-5pm to walk around

thank you

Enjoy! I've not been to a college game before, but you're bringing back the memories we all have somewhere deep in our psyche... that take-your-breath-away moment as you step out of the concourse and see the green field spread in front of you!

I have to say, I lived a charmed baseball life as a kid. My uncle was in pro baseball for 50 years - mostly as a scout and manager during my formative years - and my dad had played college ball. My first game was O's v Royals, in Baltimore. Dad had played with Billy Hunter, the O's 3B coach, so before the game we met him at the dugout and he gave me a bat. Then, my uncle Charlie (then a scout with KC) had also arranged for Billy to take us down in the O's locker room. Billy asked if there was anyone I'd like to meet. I was far too shy for the words "Brooks Robinson" to pass my lips, so I said Boog Powell and Frank Robinson, and he introduced me to both. But Uncle Charlie was no fool, and as we were leaving, Billy said there was one other person Charlie wanted me to meet. So as we walked into a dark hallway, standing in front of me was the great Brooks Robinson himself, who gave me an autographed ball. (Charlie actually had him as a player in Vancouver, and may well have saved his career when he caught Brooks when he slipped on his spikes on the dugout steps and impaled his forearm on the chain link fence at the end of the dugout.)

I slept well that night, and your son will too.
