I have to disagree about the midweek games. Rarely do you see a successful CWS participant just get there on their weekend starting pitchers. In fact, big games in the Series are won and lost with guys that haven’t had as many opportunities. You have to develop the entire staff and midweek games are where it happens. But I do like the announcement. Please let there be spring baseball!

The mid week games give you some out-of-conference contests, that for us, can be pretty valuable given our geography .... Vandy, Indiana, Kentucky, have been consistently on our schedule, and good measuring stick games for building depth.

But we should be able to get through much of that season, as the vaccines start rolling out this month.
