I love the Huskers and I hate to say this but I have a numbness about them... I expect them to lose now...

Well, I may get blasted but blessings and someday we may be back...☺️

You are preaching to the choir, sir. I go into each week expecting Nebraska to get boat raced, just to avoid disappointment.

I’m more bummed each week by the Oakland Raiders losing close games than anything the Huskers do. One would think I’d be numb to that mess by now.

Actually, this may not be a bad thing. I think about how much time I missed with my kids reading everything I could about the next upcoming season, getting my hopes up, watching pregame, the game, and all post game activities. I definitely regret doing that.

Yesterday, I watch the game until halftime, then went out to mow the lawn with the expectation to come in and watch the second half. I decided to just keep mowing up leaves, and was able to come in and watch the last few minutes of the game. it was a good decision that I kept mowing.

The good news is, I can partially rectify my past mistakes. I will soon have grandkids that I can now devote time to on weekends and the off-season instead of being obsessed with this dying program.

In the same boat guys, I spend too much time On this team. Now the emotional involvement (aka being a fan) is waining

I watched intermittently yesterday, in between small projects

Changed the oil on the snow blower, changed the flywheel cover on the car. Cleaned up part of the garage .

As a result of the outcome this season I now am
considering selling my tickets to both of the remaining home games

My wife and I have decided not to renew our season tickets next year. Im not going to pay the “donation”

If i want to go tickets are easy to get and cheap

I need to learn to stop taking them seriously the way fans of other bad teams do. It would be better for my mental health.

Doubt I will watch much next week.

sounds eerily like how I felt during the early Osborne years when he couldn't beat OU.

Except that hardly anyone else was beating OU at that time, either.

Lots of teams are beating a Purdue team decimated by injuries.

Apathy is setting in... And that is BAD. Anger is one thing and can be healthy to an extent. But apathy is a while other beast I'm afraid. Moose knows this too.

Raiders on the rise, with a lot of draft picks.

We were playing our 3rd string safety and a wounded QB. Wandale was hurt early in the game. Mo is gone etc. We're as beat up as Purdue. There's a difference in what you grew accustomed to. I grew up with Devaney's great teams and didn't know anything else. I expected to win the MNC every year. Right now most fans on this message board have watched 20 years of mediocrity so they expect more of the same and only hope for some kind of championship. So when we're below the mediocrity line they lapse into either shear anger of apathy. We're 3 one score games away from 7 wins. That's it.:( IF we had won those VERY winnable games this whole thing would feel a whole lot different. It's a very thin margin that a few players could quickly change.

IF there is any positives about the state of Husker football right now maybe this is it. People are maybe starting to realize that a game played by kids on a Saturday really doesn't make any difference in the grand scheme of things. We can all still be fans and interested but it shouldn't control our lives.

It’s not and other teams are doing way better with less. Our team is a reflection of their leader and our leader needs to take a look deep into his reflection

Yeah, I can understand that. I put off more important stuff for this past Saturday to watch the Huskers game. I have car repairs that I need to do next weekend. Can't imagine putting it off again for this product.

I'm done planning weekends around the games for sure. If I got nothing going on then I'll watch. Went to a game this year. Won't be for the foreseeable future.

I get it. What bothers me is not the weekly butt kicking we receive but the fact the team plays with no fire, intensity or emotion except for 3-4 guys. It’s hard to get emotionally invested when the team checked out long ago.

Hmmmmm. Good teams that were struggling to beat the best team in the country versus teams that are so bad they give away games to a historically bad Purdue team. Not a good attempt there.
