...While I'm disappointed in our record and no bowl....is it possible that our recruiting MIGHT be a bit better because of the full blast of coaches' doing the job???

I think the answer is yes. They are focused on selling their vision. Eventually the results on the field should make life easier on our coaches.

Hopefully this is the last time our coaches are this available during bowl season

Id say absolutely yes. We've seen it 3 years in a row now. This staff has an ability to close on the targets they WANT. They have no problem getting players that aren't forecasted to contribute off of the roster and replacing them with players they covet. This is an extremely good sign for the future. If the wins come, (I say if because the last half decade has humbled me) this staff might be especially dangerous on the recruiting trail. Time will tell but right now they are proving to be sharks.

I've actually had this thought as well. I"ll also add, does this team really gain that much from 15 practices, a majority of them inside due to less than ideal weather, for the Pinstripe Bowl? I guess these practices are fine to develop depth behind next year's starters, but do you risk the health of Wandale or Luke for the added reps? Short of having a season that places the Huskers in a bowl in Florida or So Cal,it seem too much risk and too little reward.

GBR!

Manning MADE this class IMO. If we can pair him with Betts and Wandale, we got something immediately.

I see a ton of developmental talent here. Long re-build. Lift weights.

No easy fix at Nebraska, Frost is taking a very long view, I wouldn't be surprised to start seeing Redshirt Soph and Jrs. making impacts 2-3 years out.

Patience.

My gosh, so now a worse performance helps with recruiting. Good thing we didn’t go undefeated, the recruiting would be totally in the crapper!

We can talk ourselves into anything.

It's kinda like finding a way to complain about everything. You know anyone like that?

I would think recruiting 100% of the time and coaching 0% helps recruiting, but selling 4-8, 4-8, 5-7 surely offsets some of that “edge.”

We aren't beating out bama and clemson for recruits so record is pretty pointless. The difference between an 8-4 Nebraska and a 5-7 Nebraska is about 20 points....two field goals, a fumble here or there. So selling 8-4 is really little different. The extra practices might be nice but our youngins aren't going to play anyway in the bowl game...if no bowl game helps in recruiting...then I vote for no bowl.

Betts isn't going to be ready right away imo. I think Chase is coming along nicely and will push for a starting role. I actually see someone like Fleming if he commits as someone likely to see early PT. Could end up being the fastest guy in the conference.

Yes! I think we should shoot for another 3 years of not going bowling, so we can win the off-season.

Every school in the country, short of the 2 non power 5 bowl teams which play this week, have been off and recruiting.

Teams often only have conditioning and light workouts in early to Mid December. The idea of 30 days for bowl prep is not reality, and would be counter productive.

Also keep in mind, every bowl participant is spending nearly a full week at their locale. The coaches get far more time to practice, meet with players, watch film with players, and game plan than they do in the season.

Not REALLY what I meant.....long term, anyway...

I know. More so a comment on our coaches needing to get their butts in gear with on-field coaching. Great to get these commits in, but still gotta develop them into players that excel in our systems.
