Not to sound racist or anything but "finna" is the ghetto way to say going to or gonna

Finna is a shortened slang way of saying "I'm fitting to" which derives from "I'm fixing to", both of which are often said down south and just means "I'm getting ready to". So "I'm finna go see my girl", "I'm fittin' to go see my girl" and "I'm fixin' to go see my girl" all mean the same thing- "I'm gettin' ready to go see my girl."

This is a conversation that has repeated itself over and over for the last 1000 + years.....the younger generation creating slang words and old dudes scratching their heads and complaining.

Why not "ginna"?

I'm sure if you go back far enough, there were people complaining about "gonna" instead of "going to". And the huge push back against "ain't" instead of "am not".

I'd never heard "finna" before... but it wasn't to hard to figure out from context.

My personal favorite is tryna as in "I'm not tryna to do that". Really, you can't just say "I don't want to do that"?

I can live with it on twitter but when my kids actually say it, I just, well you know. I'm not tryna to go there right now. :chairshot:
