The only negative67-27 after 3Q. Imagine if we didn’t have 16 TOs lol.
I mean, both calls were obvious and the SMU players had walked to the other end of the court both times. Make a point about the refs focusing.Do CB and Barnes have some sort of beef? A bit surprised we’ve appealed twice given the score
…yet. They turned their volleyball program into a perennial top 10 team basically overnight. They are linked to every single high profile transfer in volleyball because of the money. By hiring Barnes, I would expect they’re gonna try to do the same thing with basketball for sure.SMU’s flood of oil money has not reached the women’s team. Sheesh.
Bench played 89/200 minutesWe sat out a starter and played bench rotation the entire game. 10 Heels got double digit minutes.
Short of telling your team to not play at all this is not running up the score.
dook, by comparison, only played 8 leaving two available women out of the game despite a 50 pt lead. Their Johnson and Martin have played in only 2 games all season. I have not heard any indication those two are injured
Doen 7 players and had just 2 Gs. But stillSMU’s flood of oil money has not reached the women’s team. Sheesh.
Maybe CB, a former mid major coach, had a problem with Barnes’s comments about schools hiring mid major coaches. I doubt that played into it but just saying Barnes likes to talk.Do CB and Barnes have some sort of beef? A bit surprised we’ve appealed twice given the score
When her overall skills catch up to her athletic abilities, LOOK OUT. She just seems to just dance and bounce around the court like gravity doesn’t have the same effect as it does for everyone else. Most understated upside about Taliyah Henderson is her ability to finish through contact… she makes some legit tough shot sometimes… And she was 6-for-6 from the field again today.
Listening to the postgame driving home, Matt said it was the largest margin of victory in a conference game in school history, breaking the previous record of 51 set earlier this year at BC.Beating any ACC team by 52 points is remarkable.
There was one play where she jumped over the end line closest to our bench in pursuit of the ball; I had a great view of her hustle from my vantage point in corner section 110. Next thing I knew, she seemed to beat some of our players back down the court to get in position in the lane on defense. That young woman has some kind of speed for sure! When her overall skills catch up to her athletic abilities, LOOK OUT. I had the same thoughts about Nivar and Taliyah. A comparable (or better?) athlete with perhaps better offensive skills. She still has a ways to go on defense, seems to get lost at times but the physical ability is absolutely there. If you love basketball you have to love watch Taliyah IMO. She is track speed fast, athletic, compete's hard
has a nice 3 pt shot and can drive it to the rim plus she is 6ft2 and has long arms. A lot to love.
I think she is going to be a future star and might take the Nivar role.
This is a special freshman class with Henderson, Brooks(also a future star), Queroz and Astakhova who is coming along nicely.
I agree completely. I've mentioned before that Henderson seems to be the heir (or heiress) apparent to Nivar. Her defensive skills and non-stop motor are so impressive. Her offense is a work in progress but it is already almost as good as Indya's in my opinion. So much upside. This class is special. If you love basketball you have to love watch Taliyah IMO. Good observations. I am somewhat intrigued by Astakhova. She arrived too late to get much preseason prep but she has good length and appears to have some scoring skills. Like NB she isn't shy on the offensive end.If you love basketball you have to love watch Taliyah IMO. She is track speed fast, athletic, compete's hard
