I don’t understand why the screen writers didn’t make the vampires the mobsters they stole the booze from in Chicago and then followed them down to Clarksdale.

It would’ve tied up the script nicely.

It was fine. It was not on the level of Shawshank or Saving Private Ryan or No Country for Old Men or Pulp Fiction, I could go on.

It wasn't until I watched it a second time that I did not see the ending. Why would they give some movie credits before the ending? I thought the guy riding away with the guitar neck in his hand was the ending. It isn't.

4 academy awards for the delta version of From Dusk til Dawn? Seems excessive. I will allow that the score was deserving of an Oscar.
You have to put it in the perspective of the recent history of movies that have won Academy Awards for best picture. It’s actually probably one of the better movies that has won that award in the last five or six years and that’s saying something.

It actually didn't win Best Picture. That was One Battle After Another.

They aren't making too many Godfather's or Schindler's List these days so I understand why mediocre, decently entertaining films get the awards if they have a message those in charge like.

I thought it was well done and a pretty fun movie. The new spin on vampires was nice. And... a cameo from Buddy Guy! Awesome.

Yup. Way better than some artsy fartsy Finnish movie that is about an existential crisis. I loved it.

My mistake. I thought it won.

I think most of the hype was around Michael B Jordan winning. The main award was kind of an afterthought

Some folks I respect say that in an honest assessment, with no outside noise, Ethan Hawke gave the best performance of the year in Blue Moon.

I used to use the Oscar nominations as a guide to find a few well done movies that I wouldn't otherwise watch. It's not even trustworthy on that front anymore because of all the **** Maher talks about in the clip DCD posted above.

Sinners is a great popcorn movie that exceeded expectations commercially and turned out to be inventive enough to get more nominations than expected…

Jordan only won best actor because Chalamet’s Oscar campaign was managed by bulldoghair….

I expected something like Angel Heart or Crossroads, but it turned out to be just another vampire flick. I did enjoy to vampire rendition of Rocky Road to Dublin, though.
It was fine, but I don't know understand all the Oscar nominations. Then again, I felt the same way about One Battle After Another.

Besides Del Toro. I was not a huge fan of that movie. It was okay but nothing great. Except for Del Toro. He was fantastic
