This would make the "white privilege" issue even worse. Can you imagine a world where white people sit back safe in there homes, while using blacks to protect them. Modern day slavery.
Some friends of mine have a black child (18yo male) that lives with them. I asked the dad if the son had ever had any issues with a cop from our town. He quickly responded that only one cop had been a problem. This cop had done some shady crap - like pulling the kid over for going 2 mph over and doing a car search. This same cop has supposedly done similar stuff to other young black men and had treated them as second class citizens. I was surprised to find out that the cop was our towns only black cop.
I understand that you were probably speaking truth in jest but it's bigger than that.

A higher percentage of black cops kill blacks than white cops kill blacks. Over 2x as many blacks kill whites than whites kill blacks. It's not a black vs white thing going on now but that's the picture being painted and the simpletons have bought in. The facts and figures nowhere back up the crap BLM is spewing.
We have national standards for teachers. We have the NAIC for insurance companies. We just need to have a national standard for all police. They must all be certified by the federal goverment. Their training academy trainers must be certified to trained by the federal goverment. That would mean one training, and one standern.
The simplest solution is for the public to understand they need to stop Breaking the damn law and stop resisting arrest. Bad **** won’t happen to them if they do that. Their parents sucked *** and now they are crying over their failures at funerals.
Honestly if we could cut out whatever procedures and ******** lead to deaths in situations unlike what you mentioned there would be significantly less problems. Get back to me on what Breonna Taylor did to get shot because she wasnt committing a crime or resisting arrest or even conscious. As far as her boyfriend knew according to their story, people had just broken into their house.
Same goes for Botham Jean, Tamir Rice, Daniel Shaver, and several others. None were resisting arrest and all were shot by people who were clearly unfit to be in law enforcement.

The only thing that bothers me when people throw this stat around. A lot of people don’t see this as a white on black issue. A lot see it as a police on black situation whether the cop is White, Black, Asian, Latino. It’s a police brutality and lack of justice issue. I know not everyone does, but a lot of people do.
I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to this but whether I can get on board with it or not would depend on who develops this "national standard" and what it would include. There's already a ton of political cronyism and uneven accountability at the local level with police forces in large cities. I have little faith that the federal government would be any better if they were in charge of it.

If the media reported killings at same percent as they happen, people would have a completely different opinion of systemic racism as it pertains to police shootings

Minimum reporting should be
4 whites
3 blacks
2 Hispanics
1 asian
Which is way closer to the actual numbers.
If they reported like this EQUAL COVERAGE AND OUTRAGE, the number of people screaming racism by the police would go way down and way less looting and rioting. Justice would be seen differently.
We are creatures of learned behaviors/habits. We have been trained to think only black people are wrongfully killed by the police. ITS A LIE.
Let me know when the msm reports on this like other shootings.

I wasn't saying federalize the police forces. Just make all the training be certified by the Federal Government. You have no standards now. Every police departments are different. This way all the training is good and the same. Most your HWY Patrol are the same. You don't see any problems out of them. They are like military. They are discipline and don't take **** but don't do stupid stuff.
