i thought i had seen where TU ha 12 positions to fill but they only singed 3. did i read it wrong or has signing day become a dud? i saw where the Tulsa World had an article about it but there was no mention here. i guess tghe early signing period puts a big damper on things

All kinds of mention on the pay board, and even a post on the free board, titled Signing Day Primer

I think with the portal many high schoolers will sign later to see where the portal players end up and then make a decision based on playing time.

As you know, the actual ones that signed were the ones that orally committed. The follow up, and posts about the actual signing, talk about what will likely happen with the 6 or 7 open spots,(and when) as well as who to watch, is all on the pay side for the time being.

Yes, TU has about 7 more spots to fill, and I've discussed the guys still in play (mostly Juco and D-1 transfers) in Hurricane Alley. We've had numerous articles on the 2022 recruiting class and signing day over the past few weeks, including recruiting notebooks, official visit lists, new offers and much more. It's all been on the ITS Front Page and Hurricane Alley. I'm sometimes shocked that folks over here on the free message board do not know about the TONS of info and articles offered in Hurricane Alley.

Here are a few examples:

chris, i think what i really miss is the calling in to work and sitting around drinking coffee and refreshing the TW article of who has sent their NLI in and the profiles afterwards. it made for a great morning. i think the early period killed that.

Well, you can do that right here. For the past 18 years, I've had an Official Signing Day thread in Hurricane Alley on signing day in February -- and for the past six years, I've had an Official Signing Day thread for the early December signing period as well. I list the expected signees, and other prospects to watch that day, and I update the thread (and our prospect profiles) as the NLI's come in.

I did it in the Official 2022 Signing Day Thread two days ago (Feb. 2). I usually post a link in this free forum to the Official NSD thread, but I didn't this time.

In talking to the folks I know over at the TW, they simply don't spend much time on recruiting anymore for several reasons -- especially TU recruiting, and that has been evident over the past five years or so.
