I have been getting a scam call for about the past three weeks or more weeks. Calls have been originated in the Baltimore area with a different number each day. They tell me my Social Security number is being used for fraudulent purposes. When I follow directions to press 1 to speak to an agent, they hang up. If they proceed into my answering service, they advise me to call a number or face legal consequences.

Yesterday, I got an original. The call came in and my name flashed on TV screen to Id the party calling. When I looked for the party making the call, it was my number. And for the real smart asses, I did not call the number to see if I was home. Just think, they can now call from any location and use the calling location as anywhere they chose and the number as anyone they choose. These bastards can now start wars(fights at least) using this calling method. Just to share with BL.

Have been getting the my home # displayed on caller-id for years. finally had to put my number on reject list since I was getting that call 8 or 9 times per day.......... New one for me was a call to my cell phone from some oriental female speaking foreign language. Have no idea what kind of scam that was.....

Man, ignore the calls. Absolutely do not press 1 and under no circumstances talk to anyone.

The US government doesnt just call you up if they have a problem. You will know if they need to talk to you. Doing anything will at the least alert the spammers that they are calling an active number.

This happened to me like 50 times over a two week time period. I filed a complaint on-line with the FCC and just like that I stopped getting calls from my own number. Could be coincidence, but I think my complaint to the FCC may have helped put an end to it.
