Not surprised there is no mention here because most fans think a teams record is the only measure of the teams coach, which it is not. If someone has played at least high school basketball or coached on the high school or college levels they can see the difference between the way Pikes and Holloways teams execute almost everything, certainly from a fundamental and accountability standpoint. Holloway would have done much more with Rutger's talent than Pike has done. Pike has two lottery picks and Holloway has almost nothing. Pike would have difficulty shining Holloway's shoes. Plus, with no talent they almost beat us.

Seton Hall is 7-18 and #204 in Kenpom. On their best day they managed to pick up an overtime Q2 win. Woo ******* hoo. You're still an idiot.

Pike was #135 in kenpom his first year here. Not managing to put together enough talent to be better than #204 (!!!) in kenpom is damning. And if he's supposedly such a good coach that makes the talent failure even more glaring.

Seton Hall is like the second worst power conference team in the entire country and you are still here pimping this ****, it's ******* re*****d.

Also there was a thread on it.

Just stop already. I believe Holloway has an NIT championship and took St. Peters to the elite 8. Pikiel, I think, has 2 postseason wins in now almost 19 year as a head coach. Stop, stop, stop, stop. By the way, other than Stonybrook and Rutgers, Pikiel did manage to go 5-18 at D3 Wesleyan in his other head coaching stop. These guys aren't in the same world.

THEY ARE #204 in kenpom! That is laugably bad for a power conference team, that is worse than every Fred Hill team, every Mike Rice team, and 2/3 of the Jordan teams.

That's the kind of season that would actually get Pike fired next year. Where was the great coaching when they lost by 12 at home to Monmouth lol? How about when they lost by THIRTY to Butler (a Q3 mind you) at home? This is just the dumbest ****.

Just read my last post. You either don't understand the game or you're just stupid, probably both. By the way dumbo, the Big East has historically outperformed the Big 10.

I understand that the goal of the game is to score more points than the other team and that Holloway has failed at this goal to a degree worse than all but one Rutgers team in the last 25 years. He’s failed far worse than Pikiell did his first year coming off that one team in 25 years and with no time to recruit. I don’t watch Seton Hall basketball so I can’t tell you exactly what the problem is but the results are horrific and the fact you want to hire him based on accomplishments from this year like, um, a Q2 win and *almost* beating a powerhouse Rutgers squad is ridiculous

Who said I want to hire him off of his accomplishments this year? It's his career success and the way his team plays the game. Just think about it again - 2 post season wins in 18 going on 19 years vs. an NIT championship and an Elite 8 finish with St. Peters no less. How could anyone ever argue with this? And now you talk about how many points each team scores. Its only about scoring more points than the other team in games that matter that matters.

Well for one thing an NIT championship is ******* worthless, he came in 69th place.

For another thing the fact that he has fielded a team worse than every Fred Hill team certainly calls into question his ability to succeed at this level.

Maybe bc this is the Rutgers board? Are we supposed to have threads for every SHU win? I know they are rare but still

This is an unhinged reaction to an awful team on a nine game losing streak beating an unranked team at home.
