That and the epidemic of missed lay-ups continues into this season.Getting worse
The chart is very deceptive. We made 21 shots in the paint, mostly dunks and layups. The chart has them all on top of each other so you can’t tell that there were 21 made baskets right at the basket.Looks like an awful lot of misses for a team that shot over 50%
For sure, but RU hunting mid range shots is irritating as well. We drew up for a BLOB for a JMike 17 footer in the short corner, kind of crazyThe chart is very deceptive. That play has existed in our playbook for as long as Pike has been here...nothing new YET its a TERRIBLE play IMO. Unless you have Ace Bailey on your team who is bound to hit those shots it is a low % shot and allows the other team to rebound and outlet for a fastbreak with so many players out of position. For sure, but RU hunting mid range shots is irritating as well. To be fair the Lehigh defensive scheme was essentially about providing very little help inside and just putting a guy in the middle and forcing you to shoot in the midrange. When playing against schemes that do not require such things the first two we did a decent job getting it either to the paint or to the arc.For sure, but RU hunting mid range shots is irritating as well. Exactly if that is what they are giving you - that is what you take. It is so irritating that people don't understand that. Division 1 players should be able to hit that at a high rate.To be fair the Lehigh defensive scheme was essentially about providing very little help inside and just putting a guy in the middle and forcing you to shoot in the midrange. To varying degrees, every defense in America will give you open long 2s, it doesn’t necessarily mean you should take them. There are high-percentage mid-range shots/shooters — Purdue’s Braden Smith and TKR take and make a bunch — but the BLOB and a few others we took Friday I thought were just bad shotsExactly if that is what they are giving you - that is what you take.
