We are going to say this real slowly, so that those with bogus claims can understand.

With the Shelby Golden Lions advancing to the State Championship Title Game next Saturday, it will be the SECOND APPEARANCE in that game this decade.

It will be the SEVENTH CONSECUTIVE DECADE WITH A MINIMUM OF TWO OR MORE APPEARANCES IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME.

Pause…and let that sink in again.

Seven consecutive decades. A minimum of two championship title game appearances in each.

Look at this

2021 2025
2013 2014 2015 2016 2018 2019
2004 2005 2006 2007
1997 1998
1986 1987 1988
1970 1972 1974 1975 1976
1963 1968 1969

NO other program in North Carolina is even remotely close to that level of sustained success.

It is great to be a Golden Lion.

No argument from me. It is something special.

I do love to watch Reidsville argue their point , and do so hope this thread ignites that discussion!

Congrats.

They can’t.

For 31 consecutive recent seasons, 1971 to 2001, Reidsville failed to even play in a Championship State Title Game.

They are the capitol (sic) of nothing.

That's great but why can't you answer my question for two years. I ask you and you disappear, oh yeah.....when is soon? How long
before you close the gap? You said you will soon surpass Reidsville's total. You count decades, in Reidsville we count TROPHIES. We have more. Here is the question one more time: Since the year 2000, how much has Shelby closed the gap on Reidsville's Football Championship totals? How much have you caught up in 25 Years?

31 years with out a championship? : If you can't pass the leader while the leader naps, the leader is STILL the leader.

You better think hard before you respond to that. If you answer with what I think will be a line from one of your other post I will beat you over the head with it. Your arguements are specious.

That is not an answer. I was looking for a numerical response. You don't have one, or you are too stupid to answer. That's wrong, sorry, you are not stupid enough to answer.

Shelby has been playing football for 115 years. I would say within 10-15% of the time they've been around they'll pass Reidsville in championships...if that long.

Reidsville is on the verge of slipping into another "nap" as you call it. No more Harrison. No more Neal. No more Jimmy Teague. Talks of the talent disappearing. The Golden Lions may be better next year than they are this year. There is a chance we may be tied before the next realignment if we go on another 4 peat.

When it happens, we will go to our representative and have the debate floor opened. Then we will let the people decide instead of running a trick play like your boosters did.

Yall playing in watered down trash called 3A. Afraid to play up with Reidsville in 4a. Yall ain’t closed the gap at all while you been trash talking last 20 years. Eastern Randolph coach handed yall this state title as well. You better hope Shelby win 4 straight before alignment because they ain’t leaving yall there next time around.

I will say this to both Shelby and Reidsville fans, the years of the dominance displayed by both teams is likely to coming to an end. Technology is changing coaching methods are changing player interest is changing and player development is changing. Everyone want to "Be Like Mike". It will be harder in the future. Funny thing is, much of this advancement is driven by these two teams.

Don’t worry Shelby will move a district line to keep that number small so they can win those “little league “ titles

That was your response to the question you have been begging to have answered? Incredibly anti-climatic I must say. The years of dominance for Shelby will not be slowing down any time soon. Moving back to "split classes" (having 8 champs instead of 4) makes it much easier to win a title.

Afraid to play up? Ok buddy. Most absurd statement of the year. Your beloved Que bumped you guys up in the last edit of the new classifications. She desperately wanted to get you away from us. Why? 4-2. You are supposed to be 3A, not 4A. We are supposed to be waxing that *** this weekend but instead, you managed to dodge us.......AGAIN.

The last 20 years no, The last 40 years, yes. The last 50 years, yes. As mentioned earlier and Hoey agreed to...Reidsville is getting their bed ready. Washed the sheets, fluffy comforter, maybe some throw pillows, lit the small lamp, turned on the white noise sound machine....the question will be how long does the nap last? 10 years, 20? Or possibly another THIRTY straight years like they slept from 1971-2001. Who knows?? Time will tell.

According to the NCHSAA WEBSITE,

Shelby first played in a state championship game in 1924.
They Lost, then disappeared from championship play until 1986, wow a 62 year hiatus from the championship game, that is a very very long time my friends…

Years Shelby is listed as a State champion on the NCHSAA WEBSITE:

2005

And exactly how many State Championships has Reidsville won in this same period, since 1986?

1977 was the year all NC public high schools came under ONE governing body.
Prior to that, there existed rival associations and all same size schools did not compete for one title.
Except prior to 1930.
And then there were no classifications.
Open to all, big and small.
Shelby held its own during that period, including the 1924 Title Game.
Reidsville did not show up until 1930 when its available competition fell to half or below.
That trend continued for Reidsville in 2002 and subclasses were introduced.
8 classes now just re- institutes subclasses and Reidsville benefits once more in ducking Shelby, as they have for decades.

You are just a freshman.
You have a lot of homework to do.
We will not respond to you until you come back better prepared.

There are several there that know the facts.
Go find them.

We answered you on the other thread.

Records in the 21st century
Shelby 300-76 with 9 State Championships (11 appearances)
Reidsville 333-44 with 10 State Championships (13 appearances)

Reidsville is pulling away with State Championships and closing the gap in total wins.

Reidsville still leads with 23 State Championships (NCHSAA) compared to Shelby's 12 (NCHSAA) State Championships--(WNCHSAA not included since they have been defunct since 1977 and those totals can't change--Not debating whether they should count or not here)
But at the start of this century Reidsville had 13 (NCHSAA) Championships and Shelby had 3 (NCHSAA) State Championships.

Shelby still leads with 861 wins compared to Reidsville's 819. Shelby has a lead of 42.
But at the start of this century Shelby had 561 wins and Reidsville had 486 wins. Shelby's lead was 75.

Both teams have been amazing over the past 25 years and have a chance to add to their respective Championship totals this weekend.

Successful programs draw good players both for the championships and the access to scouts and scholarships. In my opinion programs like Reidsville and Shelby will continue to be successful.

Has Reidsville played teams like Crest, South Pointe Rock hill, South Point Belmont, Kings Mountain, Burns, Asheville, etc... in their regular season games or played a much easier schedule?

Are we going to have to do an RPI on 753 games. Wow you sure are into strength of schedule. We had no games with Highland Tech, Cherryville or Thomas Jefferson. They pad your wins every year without fail.

Shelby's regular season schedule has been tougher over the past 25 years overall. Not necessarily because of South Pointe Rock Hill, having only played them twice, and not because of Asheville because they haven't played them in the 21st century.

Playing Crest, KM, Burns, and SP Belmont regularly has made Shelby's schedule tough! Tougher than Reidsville's no doubt.

Reidsville has, although, played some good teams in the regular season over the past 25 years as well--teams like Cummings, Northern Guilford, Western Alamance, Eastern Alamance, George Washington,VA , Magna Vista, Andrews etc...

Reidsville has also played cupcakes like Rockingham, McMichael, Bartlett Yancey, and Morehead which helped their record tremendously.

Shelby has played cupcakes as well, teams like Highland Tech, Cherryville, Thomas Jefferson, CHASE, Bessemer City, etc..., which have also helped their record.
