Senior Alex Shauger threw a complete game shutout while striking out 10 batters to send Salem to a 4-0 win over Ocean Lakes. Shauger allowed only four hits and he struck out the final batter with two Dolphins on base.
Salem scored three runs in the second to give Shauger all the run support he needed. All the runs were scored with just one hit in the inning. Danny Corriere walked with the bases loaded and Zach Baber was hit by a pitch to make the score 2-0. Shauger scored the third run on a passed ball. Salem added an insurance run after Andrew Crandell doubled with two out and later scored on an error.
The Sun Devils collected seven hits including two by Will Norris. Shauger reached base twice with two bases on balls.
