Looks like a crafty guy in the paint that knows how to finish around the basket using both hands.
I don't see Freeman as a great finisher in the paint.
I like how Pikiell is buiding this team...two bigs in his 2nd class and three shooters in his 3rd class, when you include Kiss....also added an experienced big in Shaq for next year.

From the small clips I saw, he looks like a bigger Freeman....which is huge because Freeman is undersized for his skill set in the B1G.
Shaq is more of the prototypical power forward (old prototype). More of a big banger with some offensive skills to go along with it. Freeman was more a hybrid, aggressive on the boards but undersized. His quickness and aggressiveness makes him a good rebounder, but also sometimes gets him in trouble on the offensive side.
Not a true one to one replacement, a different style that fills a need.

Agree: *Plus offensive player when he is under control. When he gets out of control he can be a liability. But I guess you can say that about most players.
Lets see how he progresses this year in JUCO. Those were about his numbers in his first JUCO year, big difference in the BIG.
I have been looking at Carter's play at Eastern Florida. He seems pretty consistent. Most of his games have been 7 rebounds, 8 points, etc. He also has a nice touch on the ball, and can pass a little bit.
We will have to see how the rest of his year plays out.
Him and Freeman are very different styles of play. Carter is like an Angel Delgado in the paint. His rebounding technique is very sound. Right now, he is not as versatile at Freeman is. His energy and style of play will help the culture continue to change.
Basketball is taking a nice change. No reason you have to have specific centers. You can run two forwards,etc.
I don't expect a drop off next year. Sanders best games are conference play. I think he will stay be on the banks, if anyone is wondering.

With very rare exceptions, unless the JuCo player is a guard you should definitely have your expectations low for their first season and hope they make a big Improvement in their second season
Very suspicious top 10 National ranker. Almost all of those kids are at a JuCo in Florida. Not one from one of them from any of the traditional powerhouse JuCos.
