So I went to the game with some buddies.

One guy was a hall fan, the other was a notre dame fan pretending to be a hall fan. But we were completely surrounded by hall fans.

I gotta say, maybe it's just me, and I have pretty thick skin especially when it comes to sports and banter, these guys (Not my buddies) are borderline pathetic.

The guy I was sitting next to was like 60 years old acting like he was a 20 year old frat guy. I had to listen to their post game show and every fan called in and was pissed they didn't win by 40. One guy said that the ncaa/big ten clearly fixed the Purdue game.

Did anyone else have similar experiences, are RU fans that bad towards hall people?

My theory is that every fanbase has the same small percentage of fans who are awful. None are really worse than others.

Yes I’ve had the experience last night as well. But what most fans don’t realize is us Rutgers fans have those in our base as well. 60 yrs olds Totally rude and acting like 20yr old frat guys. They’re in every fan base. Some worse than others. And yes Hall fans are some of the worst but we got em too. They’re still some nice cool seton hall fans as well don’t get me wrong.

There are reasonable RU/SHU fans and unreasonable SHU/RU fans......we live in NJ and we all know crazy, erratic people who love sports.

At the end of the day, Seton Hall had to listen to RU crow about the demolition 2 years ago and didn't choose to play RU last year. Even though RU lost the game, the Harper shot is an epic story and dominated the CBB news cycle and overshadowed a very good SHU win over Texas on Thursday night.

If I was SHU and had a successful program and still ultimately live in a shadow where they don't get the national or local press or accolades, if I were a SHU fan, I would feel kinda slighted or overlooked.

RU is really the biggest story in the tri state area when it comes to basketball in the last 2 years....Seton Hall lost out on a really good opportunity in the NCAAs in 2019-20, with the NCAAs being canceled......, but the local story would have ultimately been, that RU broke the drought of not making the NCAAs anyway.

If we are watching CBB from January through February and early March, RU is hosting Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State, Maryland, Illinois and Iowa....and Seton Hall is hosting a good number of teams in the Big East, but are those games going to match the coverage of RU?? Nova, UConn, Xavier and other traditional Big East teams like St John's, Providence and Georgetown....mix in Butler, Creighton and Marquette and I think if all of those teams are relatively even in talent or ratings, the schools we are playing are the bigger schools in most cases....more media coverage, more alumni, more fans, and as time moves on, as RU rebuilds its football program, the coverage if RU is only going to go up.

Eh, we do same to them at the RAC. That said I do think they hate us more than we hate them overall.
