LOL there is literally no way UK is losing to a 15 seed or to a 7/10 seed as that is who we play in the first weekend . Sorry . Not happening . Now if you want to say UK won't make the final 4 that is arguable but not getting out of the first weekend? Seth must be smoking the rock he got from the Ball father.

To be fair, how can one make an absolute statement without seeing the brackets first?

Greenberg is a competent announcer. I don't think it's much of a stretch to think we could be upset in the 2nd round. I don't think that will happen, but it certainly doesn't make someone a "butt-hurt hater" if they think that.

Y'all are so damn sensitive.

meh, Seth is okay
looks to be following the line a little bit is all
let's face it, after some of our games recently, it's not that much of a stretch to wonder

On the other hand, I wouldn't say it definitively; IIRC the 2014 hadn't had their "tweak" at this point of the season yet, so I'm not betting on anything

Guys,

Greenburg has been EXTREMELY complimentary towards our program in the past. He and Cal are pretty good friends. He's not a hater just because he picks against us or doesn't like how we are playing. NEWS FLASH: We are not very good right now. We have some serious holes that we need to shore up before the tournament. He's just going by what he's seeing right now but we've still got time to change things around.

It's not a completely absurd notion that we get beat in the first weekend and it's definitely possible, no matter what some of you say. There have been plenty of teams better than ours that lose to a 7/10 or 6/11 seed. It happens every year and it's not a crazy idea that it could happen to us this year if we don't get better. Truth is that we just aren't very good right now. I'm by no means agreeing with him at all but I don't think he's a hater for thinking it could happen. He's always been complimentary towards the team and the fan base as well. Relax. That's what these guys are paid to do.

The fact that he is making these comments while UK is riding a four and about to be five game winning streak and has UF in Rupp Saturday reeks of hate.

We are playing pretty damn good ball these days.

Well, he's not speaking crazy speak. It's a possibility if the wrong team shows up. My blue glasses are on a lot, but off right now. I could see anything from first weekend exit to final four. Let's see how Cal responds tonight. Give the keys to Fox, or let IB run wild. This will be the decider.

I definitely think we make it past the first weekend, but it isn't THAT crazy a prediction.

A team that struggles to beat Georgia at home and loses to Tennessee on the road is a team that could definitely lose to a 7 seed in the tourney.
You like to conveniently forget that Fox didn't play that game at Rupp.

And Tennessee isn't a bad loss no matter how bad some of you want to make it to be.

There's a difference between "could lose first weekend," and "don't expect them to survive first weekend."

It's reasonable to expect us to have a tough game opening weekend. But to expect us to lose is going a little far.

I agree with that A. Guess I misunderstood his quote. If he said "don't expect" - that's a little strong.

Then couldn't you make the same argument for UNC since beat a terrible Pitt at home by two points and got smoked by Georgia Tech?

I'm not trying to put us down at all.

Keep in mind that if we are playing a 7 seed, then that should represent one of the top 28 teams in the country. That is a tough game that we could lose.

I don't expect us to, but it isn't crazy to think we could.

Seth Greenburg is currently playing the anti UK character. It's all for show. That much was obvious after he trashed Monk during halftime at UGA after he played a really nice floor game.

It depends on where the game is played. We lost to Tennessee. Who is in the 30-40 range. Though we're playing better now than we were then and we have all of our players.

But you never know, we could end up getting stuck in a hostile environment against another much better than their record suggest type team.

Wichita State is a good team, that's probably looking at a 7-11 seed with 4 losses. I'm sure there are others. Especially in the mid major ranks.

Also Greenberg and Cal are buddies. He might be saying it to keep our guys grounded as a favor to Cal.

You definitely could.

The tournament is completely wide open this year. Even the one undefeated team isn't a dominant one.
Don't get me wrong. I think UNC is an outstanding team. But all teams have their warts this year.

Looking at the ESPN bracket right now, I could see potential 6 seed Notre Dame and maybe Maryland giving you guys a good game.

Exactly. I agree it is unlikely we lose first weekend but let's be honest: with this squad it is entirely possible.

Funny how quick he changed his gimmick since the UNC win, he was all over Cals nuts then.

I agree with this. UK fans have the thinnest skin I've ever seen.

I don't like it but at this point it's not a crazy notion. We still have a long way to go to live up to our potential

Greenberg might be onto something. At this point, I'll be surprised if we advance past the first weekend.
