Sorry, not sorry about the week off guys. My wife and I were in Cabo last week and one thing I forgot about was I wouldn't have a way to chime in on the semi finals. Truth be told we took off from Hartington after the absolute gut punch Ord delivered to Cedar in the Quarters...OUCH, that one is going to sting for a long time but even more shocking was for them to turn around and lose @ GICC. I was 100% on board with them winning it all. Sports are weird man. Some other thoughts on the semis; Red Raiders represent the panhandle and I'm pumped for that community. Crofton...wow, talk about a team riding uncle Mo! Wynot beating Central Valley lost me money, literally. Is St. Mary's QB best player in 8man football? (Shout out Wyatt Frey on his commitment to Northwestern). I was in attendance for Southwest-Red Cloud and knew Houston Billeter was good but damn...for what it's worth he'd start at Cedar Catholic in C2 so don't just say he's a 6man QB and that doesn't mean much.
Finals Picks:
Class A- Millard South -35.5 vs. Papillion LaVista South...the spread was the only thing in doubt here.
Class B- Waverly over Gretna East...no dog in the fight.
Class C1- Wahoo over Sidney...Love an underdog story!
Class C2- Bishop Neumann over GICC...Gotta cheer for the team that beat the team that beat your team right?
Class D1- Crofton over Sandy Creek...Northeast NE might have both 8man state champs!
Class D2- St. Marys over Wynot...O'Neil is northeast NE right?
Class D6- Garden Co. over Southwest...Just to piss Drew Billeter off, probably not a good thing though.
