predicted the Iowa smackdown in the prediction thread
I predicted we win in a miracle shot to throw it back in their face. Instead, is was a total smack-down. If it weren't from some of the shittiest officiating of the season, we would have won this game by 20+. At one point we had shot 11 Ft's and Iowa had shot 31FT's. Think about that. Three to one. We breathed on them and a foul was called. The fact that we still won by 14 is a huge shout out to the players and coaches who came into Iowa well prepared.

It almost felt like the refs were on the “take”.

We have all seen some questionable officiating over the years. But IMO, this game takes the cake. My god, what a horribly officiated game for one team over the other. If this game had been officiated fairly, we would have won this game by 22+ points.

I think Hobbs and Pike need to ask the league office to look at this game. It’s almost like they wanted to set up the Cinderella comeback scenario where Iowa got the lead under10 pts with 2 mins left so that could hit a few threes. A volume of free throws literally kept Iowa in the game with one of our players fouling out with 11 mins left in the game. RU should have beaten this team by close to 30 and even with this discrepancy of fouls called RU missed enough bunnies to score 100 pts.

Not saying these refs were mobbed up but they might have been.

So funny how THAT is how they respond to being called MFers and cheaters a game earlier but the other team.

It’s usually not the calls the refs make against RU that piss me off (although there waere certainly a spate of tick tack fouls). It’s the calls we don’t get. For example, no one gets away with more offenseive fouls with the forearm push-off than Bohannan and Wieskamp. They never got called for it. Drove me nuts.

Thanks Shack

Had a feeling we would take the next step, we were on a mission and Iowa was cracking just a little. It was time to make a statement on the road.

There is another step to be taken in a couple of days....PSU...if you want to be a top team in this league you must make sure teams in your rear view mirror stay in your rear view mirror no matter how hot they are...

THe officiating was so one sided it was really amusing. Our guys were getting called for hitting Bohanan's elbow with their face over and over. It helped us at the end, though. They needed to send us to the line and had so few fouls at the end of the game, we kept getting the ball back. They were so programmed not to call fouls against us, that they let seconds go by before making the call when Iowa was trying to foul us. BRAVO Zebras!!

Yeah, I wrote about that in another thread. If you may recall, there was one sequence where Bohannan had pushed off three times, a blatant offensive foul and he wasn't called for it. Also, at one point Iowa had shot 31 FT's to our 11 attempts. I watched that entire game and the calls against us were beyond ridiculous as compared to the fouls Iowa as a team makes and doesn't get called for.

I noticed this too, it was pretty funny. Iowa was trying so hard to get an intentional at the end to stop the clock and the refs didn’t call it for like 10 seconds after Iowa grabbed us like 3 times, they literally didn’t flip the switch like oh wait we actually have to start calling fouls now to help them. They were probably confused if it would affect Fran’s paychecks to them
