After last nights game, gotta be a 2 seed. I don't want to be in the same bracket as MSU. Izzo's teams are tough to beat in March. I'd love a bracket where Villanova is the 1 seed.
Really? Villanova has a good back court who guard well.
You're right about Izzo & Co. in March, but that would be a hell of a game. If we want to do something great, we'll need to beat a good team at some point.
Don't think the committee won't have in mind the fact that Eron Harris plays for MSU. They like little "stories" in these potential Sweet 16/Elite 8 games. That would be a story.
Meh, as far as stories go, Eron Harris and WVU is not a big one in the grand scheme of things. I hope we don't end up in MSU's bracket, all Izzy does is crank out Final Four teams.
I'd prefer Nova or the ACC champ as the 1 seed in WVU's bracket. I think we'd beat UVA this time and I think we match up nicely with UNC.
I get what you are saying, but Jay Wright's teams typically go down early in the tourney. They are soft as always and I think our guards could handle Hart and the white kid (not gonna try and spell his name).
I give us a better chance against them than I do against the other 1 seeds, mainly KU and MSU.
Since we've played Oklahoma and Kansas 3 times already the earliest we could meet either is in the Elite 8 by tournament rules.
I could be wrong but I believe they changed that rule in the mid 2000's.... ...although the committee still strives to make it that way.
I also believe (and again I could be wrong) that the top 3 teams from any given conference are supposed to be placed in diff regions so that would still do the trick.
agree. we actually should make the elite 8. it looks like coach k picked the top half of the unc bracket. i still like their chances.
Point spread (from Vegas) says it does. We're about a 7 point fav (by far closest of any three seed)....very unimpressive.
Plus, we have lots of TO's and we're playing the single team that forces more of them than us.
