Season's silver lining

As always, I bow to the judgment of a coach with 900 career victories about which players and which combination will be most effective for my alma mater.

Bob is always subbing to match the situation throughout the game, for better defense or better offense or better rebounding. It's not a perfect choice every time, for every coach in America. And players don't always do what Huggins tells them to do.

All in all it has been a remarkable season. 9 of the 10 losses were by 1 to 5 points, including to Gonzaga which demolishes team after team by 20 points, more or less. WVU was a tough out.

Yes, it would have been great to get 6 more points in those 9 games and finish the season with only 1 loss. But it also IS great to have a team that never is out of any game. Well, one game.

Fans all over America would love to have such a scrappy, comeback team that never quits.

Why can't every WVU fan appreciate that even in the anguish of a defeat? It's a great season to be a Mountaineer!

It depends on what you're expectations were before the season started. Some folks in the local media, such as Brad Howe, predicted a Final Four for WVU, and basically ridiculed anybody who questioned his high expectations. If you had similar expectations, then you wouldn't have been happy on Sunday night or satisfied with the season.

1. Dorkman....did you watch any games this year? Team quit in the second half several times.
2. Scrappy? Outrebounded. Turned the ball over more times than a roller blade. And...didn't play defense.
3. Satisfied with this seadon lol. Well at least that proves that while the rest of your profile is a lie...you are a Mountaineer fan where "almost" is good enough.
4. BOB? So first name basis now. Except you answer to "clueless. "
5. The only sport you know about is Candyland.

I'm happy with WVU's season. 9 of 10 losses were by 1 to 5 points. That means my alma mater was in every game but one all season long, including against Gonzaga.

And there's this bonus: Optimists lives 7.5 years longer than pessimists. Medical study documents that. Probably explains why, at 88, I'm dancing a happy tune every day, hugging my 5 GREAT-grandchildren, playing 100 to 150 rounds of golf a year, traveling the world when there's not a pandemic and have a sound financial situation.

I am HAPPY about the job Bob Huggins did this season. He's helping me live 7.5 years longer.

Btw...only you...a sister kissing weirdo...would be happy with nine close losses. You try so hard to be relevant. Lol

You are so full of it...and all of it...is fake.
Exactly, Root. If he were so happy and satisfied about the season, then why would he keep posting about his faux euphoria, and starting thread after thread announcing his pretend unbridled joy? I almost feel sorry for him, as it's obvious that he's desperate to convince everybody, including himself, that he's thrilled about this past season. I've never seen somebody brag about multiple close losses before.

KingCoal and Root will be outlived by me by 7.5 years. Medical studies prove Pollyanna outlives Oscar the Grouch by that many years. So, ***** and snarl on. You're just digging an early grave for yourself. I see silver linings which is why I'm 88, play 100 to 150 rounds of golf, haven't been near a cane or a walker or wheelchair ever. You snarl and die earlier. I'll smile and enjoy my alma mater's sports to 7.5 years longer than you quarrel about it. You are desperate to make a dinosaur look goofy when even Donald Duck knows you are.
