Sellout crowds at the RAC are great because opposing teams get rattled from the crowd noise. At the same time the RAC remains a very small arena with attendance at 8000 seats.Rutgers needs to increase revenue to successfully compete in the Big Ten especially with the upcoming league expansion.Any future RAC renovation should include additional seating to at least 10,000 seats.

Did they do mini packages this year?
Not yet. Maybe they are holding some seats back for that purpose? Or maybe they truly did sell the RAC out on season tickets alone.

Looking at the website now when you go to buy new season tickets, it shows no seats available.

With the digital tickets, does Rutgers have the ability to track whether the original purchasers of the tickets are using them?

I bought a pair today. Rep said “last two together in the building”

I don’t truly believe this but it did seem like they were limited.
Where did your seas? Did you have season Tix prior? Just wondering if I might get a couple near each other?

I think I've read on here that the school knows if you resell them .... And if they suspect you're a scalper they may cancel your tickets.
I wonder how they differentiate, because I transfer my tickets to my friends if I am not going or if they can't make it on time, only 50% of my tickets are used by me the other half is 2 of my friends

They probably flag you as a potential scalper if you're putting them on StubHub to resell.

Transferring is a different process

Paciolan was integrated with StubHub before and now SeatGeek. They can absolutely track when tickets from STH are bought and sold through those platforms and the price they were bought and sold at. If you transfer them or sell offline they can't necessarily track the price but they can see someone else is using them so more marketing opportunities.

When tickets are scanned for entry into the RAC, is there a unique device ID (ticket presenter’s cell phone, for example) associated with the digital ticket?

I am a bit conflicted. I am a season ticket holder (200’s) and retired down to NC. Last year I donated 5 games to charity, my son and I went to 7-8 games and I sold the other 5 or so through TickPicks. Some of which I sold for above face and some below. So probably 12 or so games were transferred to someone else. Is that wrong? Am I in jeopardy of losing my seats? I understand the concerns about scalpers but I just can’t get to all the games but I want to support the program and be there as often as I can.

I believe transfer is safer than reselling. If it’s convenience for you, you can use the ticket exchange place on this board to sell your tickets. This way the school won’t find out how much you get.

And likely your tix would go to an R fan if you ticket exchange here, instead of selling them online probably to an opponent fan.

Ah, sell to Rutgers fan for below what I paid (as technically I’m not allowed to charge seat donation amount through this site), OR sell it easily for twice as much online and it’s about 50/50 going to an RU fan. If I was independently wealthy then it’s an easier choice. Otherwise…too bad this ticket exchange doesn’t allow for offloading of unused season tickets for at least the price I fully paid for the seats, and ideally at some reasonable cap like purchase price +$50 as the max.
LOTS more people would choose to sell seats here to RU fans AND lots more would love to pay a little above purchase price instead of much higher through resale sites.

So the people selling football tix on Ticketmaster are legit and the tix will work but they may get a warning?
I haven't heard of anyone getting a warning for selling football tix. Only basketball.

This makes sense because no one is making big money reselling their football tix.

This is not true.

Below is the email I received.

'Rutgers has consolidated its secondary business to one partner through an RFP process, beginning with the 2022 Football and 2022-23 Men’s Basketball seasons, and continuing thereafter.
Your account has been flagged as a potential ticket reseller, meaning you are purchasing tickets with the sole intent of reselling your inventory. At this time, your seats will no longer be available to renew, or purchase new, for the upcoming seasons.'

So you made money reselling football tix?

I simply can't see Rutgers being concerned about fans reselling their football tix considering the fact RU is having a hard time selling season tickets and keeping its STHs.

Mike- should DM you on the side but are you going to Springsteen this week at MetLife. I broke down and got seats. I was (am) angry with him. First Bruce show was 1980 for me. Still have mixed emotions

I'll be at MetLife on Sunday night. I'll be at the RU/Northwestern game at noon. Both events being on the same day spoiled any chance of tailgating for the RU game. Gotta sleep in or I'll be dozing off before the encore...lol

Gettin' too old for doubleheaders!

Funny. I had tickets for Sunday too and realized the same issue. No way I can drink that long so I swapped for tomorrow night. Btw- I’m a big John Eddie fan too. Met him a bunch too. Kindred spirits I guess lol

Last year waited until around now to get season tickets, needed 3 together but there weren’t any in the entire arena. There was only a single group of 4 in the 300s, which we snagged, they wouldnt let you buy 3 and leave 1 alone, so we just take friends or eat it.

You aren’t in danger of losing your tickets for putting them on Stubhub. Its scalpers who put say 80% or more on Stubhub, and the other 20% aren’t scanned … Rutgers gets all that data from Stubhub, etc. and if therr were any questions I’m sure they would call and ask you why first. I don’t think thats a huge issue at the RAC anymore, since the place looked totally packed last year for most games, and there were very limited (or none, like for Michigan there was 1 or 2) tickets on Stubhub just before tipoff.

Used to have 6 football tix in 207. 3 in 1st tow, 3 in 3rd row, ~48 yd line. Great seats. Kids got older and Ash disaster….kept eating the tix, couldn’t give them away to RU fans. Admin didn’t fire Ash, admin watched and allowed FB program getting decimated.

Finally said “F it. If admin doesn’t care, why should I”. Went 2 seasons selling most of those tickets + parking passes to opposing fans willing to pay top $ for nice seats. It’s an easy sell.

Now down to 2 FB tix downstairs on 50.

Hopefully they do.
My kids kept asking to go last season but no games really worked.
Was hoping to take them this year to a game or two.
