Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for the FWS games? It appears we don't want many people to attend.

I’m assuming it’s during their standard practice times. They probably don’t want many people to attend because it’s not going to be staffed like a real game and they can’t sink a lot of costs into security, concessions, etc. for practices they can’t make money off of.

They don’t sink a lot into concessions during the regular season.

Which begs the question. why even announce the dates and times if you don't want people to attend?

Here's another question, and it was actually the first one that popped into my head when I saw the announcement. With no football game next weekend, why not play at least a couple of the games then? Say Wednesday afternoon, Friday at 6 and some time Saturday afternoon.

I get what you all are saying but I don’t think UNC is doing something different/worse here than anyone else. It’s offseason practices for a non-revenue sport in a venue without active service contracts because it’s not in season. These are open practices basically…if you think about them that way and not as “games” they are under-delivering on you’ll be much happier.

This isn't about "under-delivering". I'm retired, and live less than 15 minutes from Boshamer, so the dates and times really don't impact me, but they do impact a significant portion of our fan base. I'll be there for all three games, but I think we are missing an opportunity to grow the fan base for a very successful program, by not playing the games when more people can attend.

But they aren’t “games” they are open practices. They have class schedules in the fall built around specific practice hours. We have the public exhibition against nc state. That is a new and great thing. Fall intrasquad scrimmages are for the diehards, not the casual fan. It’s a peek behind the curtain, not a show. It would be cooler if they were at night but I don’t think it’s unreasonable that they aren’t.

I loved going last year, but my youngest daughter and I could only go to one since she had school. We were thrilled just to see one game, but a couple of night scrimmages would be nice. I really think that after our run last season, a lot of casual fans became much more serious fans.
