That's where Newby is at his best. Nice to have it finally working. Tommy completed passes to 9 different receivers and accounted for over 400 yards of the 550 total. GBR

I love that the screen game is being incorporated. That was one of my biggest complaints about Beck. That guy never called screens. It was infuriating.

Glad that it worked today, but I don't know that I'll ever feel that TA will make it a staple. He's been too inconsistent with the easy short throws over the years, if he makes a habit of it, I'll feel much better.

I was glad to see it and thought it was a highlight too. We don't need to get a million yards on it for it to be effective in helping us to win games this year like we did today, either. Getting some yards and slowing down the rush can help tommy and make him dangerous with his legs too. Of course getting fifty yards is nice too.

There are a lot of guys who excel at catching the ball in a variety of ways. All levels are available. Tommy has a lot of options if he can make the throws.

He can make all the throws, he is gifted and can bea hell of a player. He needs to learn that the stands are a receiver, down and distance means something, and a punt is not a bad thing (if we can get that solved)

It looked good today, but will it look good next week, or on the road in some tough situations? Hopefully yes.

The problem TA has always had with the screen pass is seeing under neath, a LB, lineman, safety comimg in. His touch wasnt always the best as well.

I watched a couple screens yesterday where we didn't block a soul but Newby got some big yards. Wyo just took themselves out with their blitzing. If you can get a screen off against a blitz you have a good shot at some yards even with poor blocking.

Why are most of our screens to the right?

Tommy is too short...,that's why he throws what seems to be ,installed boggling interceptions or too high on screen plays......he never sees the defender in the first place, or he is throwing over taller people to short people.

well this week should be better, if armstrong see's hi-vis yellow, where he's going to throw,
DON'T THROW! (unless the game is on the line, it's crunch time, and there's no other choice).
do not give them quaks anything.

There is some truth to that. When he rolls out, he can see the field better, but he has such a cannon for an arm and gunslinger mentality, his height can't explain away all his decision making, but it probably factors in.
