Wow...Perfect spot!

2 years with Rodgers and this guy will be signing a new deal for 60 million.

How did Jojo not get drafted
Considered a tweener most likely by NFL standards. He will get his chance as a non drafted free agent by a few teams I'm sure, he just might make a team. Same can be said of Austin all because of weak blocking standards is my guess. All in all Nebraska should feel pretty good about the players that were drafted and should only improve in the coming years.

I was a little worried after not taking a WR in the first round. But getting Watson in 2nd, Toure in 7th and Romeo in 3rd has me feeling better. Stocked both sides in this draft.

Bottom line for many players with eligibility don't enter the draft if you need to improve your craft, you'll only get disappointed.

As a Packers fan, really happy to see this. Good situation to go into to try to earn a roster spot. I don't think he'll ever be a WR1 or WR2, but I could see him playing for a good while as a 3rd or 4th option.

He will be the slot guy...with 50-60 receptions. Dude is set for life now.

Yes…Austin is a good receiver but a below avg blocker…so that was probably the reason he didn’t get picked. JoJo has a reasonable chance to make a roster. I am surprised he wasn’t taken.

Yeah, I only wish Austin would have put in one more year at Nebraska with Whipple's offense and Thompson at QB. I think Austin may have a chance as a hybrid type TE/Receiver but he's really going to have to wow some team during tryouts. My hope is that all the Nebraska players trying to make NFL rosters make it, now that would be fantastic even though chances aren't great.

You need to get DK Metcalf.

A Rodgers rook has never caught more than 38 passes.

Me too. I think JoJo makes a roster. If Allen lands in a good fit…he could as well.

Can't afford him.
As of today, a new deal for DK will cost 25 mil per. If this keeps up, I see some team trading their top WR free agents to be then take 3-5 WR the next draft and roll with that for 4 years. That actually makes more financial sense. Same with CB. Waaaaaay overpaid for what they are worth. QB is the team, all other positions are overpriced these days, IMO. Only an Aaron Donald/Deion Sanders type would be worth what they are paid these days

A steal by the Packers IMO.
ruined his chance at getting drafted higher with his 40 time. He seems to play faster in pads than that 40 time indicates. As I posted in the NFL thread during the 4th round, the Packers had been kicking the tires pretty hard on Toure. I think he makes the practice squad to start out at least.

Toure wasn't helped by his season at Nebraska. That's tough to say but it's true. His draft status didn't change from what it was said to be when he transferred in. But that said, there were a lot of decent WRs in the draft. Toure is going into a good situation, he's older and mature. I see him playing next year when they go 10 personnel.

I'll be a little bit surprised if he makes their active roster until somebody gets injured.

I could not disagree more. The Packers have the weakest WR roster in the league. Allen Lazard is their only established player and he isn't starting caliber for anyone other than the Packers and Jags. Watson is a stud. Cobb and Watkins are declining players in play to get cut in training camp unless they get hurt first. Amari Rogers is cheaper and should beat Cobb out. But Rodgers will want Cobb I suppose. Other than that, I don't see anyone who is better than Toure. I think he makes the team and I bet he plays.

Toure is a knacker. He'll get open and catch the ball. I think Rodgers will like him.

Sammy, Lazard, Cobb and Amari Rodgers will have to do for the vets until the rookies get going.
Love they got Toure but am a little bothered that we are so heavy on dudes that are almost all just straight vertical route runners. Cobb and Rodgers being the only decent route guys, and they’re short. It’s gonna look a lot different than Devante Adams, Rodgers will make it happen though. I’m actually more excited about Devante Wyatt and the two O-linemen. Love Wyatt’s tape

They may still add another veteran WR.

Well I like Toure but I'm also a realist and his 40 time left a lot to be desired for a WR. IF he was 6-4 and 220 it would be one thing, but he's not. I hope you're right.

I think the Pack killed it on draft day. Then I listened to my Vikes' new GM explain the trade to the Lions..... Good heavens. He's an idiot. I think I'm going to renew my pledge to become a Raider fan. Errr wait. They fired the guy who coached at Yankton College and Wayne State. Sh....oot. Bengals fan maybe? Vikings GM can't even form a complete sentence. Dunce.

Didn't he run a 4.44?
I saw a 4.5+ listed I thought but I could be wrong. Edit: Google says 4.48 but supposedly was hand held. That's not a burner for a guy that size in the NFL. That said, it's fast enough if he runs good routes and catches the ball to make the roster. I do think he appeared to play fast in pads but maybe B1G defenders were just slow.....

Rodgers will make someone else into an elite WR. First it was Greg Jennings, then Jordy, then it was Cobb, then it was Adams.
And the funny thing is when all these guys left GB they all looked just ā€œokā€ elsewhere. Likely Adams will still be great but not like he was with A-Aron. And he will see a major drop with DC

someone will step up in GB @ WR. Every start WR GB has had under Rodgers was basically a no one until A-ARon made them.

Looking back at Devante Adams combine just for fun. He ran a 4.56 40. I know I know, he’s REALLY good at other things. If Toure works really hard he can be good.
