Agree. I thought he would be ripe for them pressing him into a TO. That little wild haired guy should have been all over him.
No kidding. Least some good momentum with 8 days off before USC next week. Tate and Howard kept us alive 2nd half and stirtz closed it out
That & 68% at the line for the year. Scary but kudos to Sage he was the best player tonight.
Other than the stupid little reach in foul on RU's last FTs, Sage absolutely saved this game for his team.
I could be wrong, but I think the Hawks only made 3 other three-balls outside of Sage Tate's 4. I remember one by Combs, Banks and Cooper, but that's about it.

Anybody have insight on why Koch and not Howard in for most of the final 4-5 minutes was the play?

Without Combs as a 2nd ball handler our offense is very shaky. Puts to much pressure on Stirtz. I’m assuming he is sick or something.
Sage has the best conference turnover rate on the team. He's a 6'7" guard.
He can't handle the physicality of the B1G.

Off the bench: Howard 6 points, but he had 8 rebounds. Tate 17 points. Folgueiras had 1 point and 1 rebound. He only played 14 minutes, but I hope he can occupy the pine for awhile.
Thank goodness the Hawks did enough to win tonight, because if you think the MIN loss will be bad in March, an L tonight would have been a resume killer.
Devastating IMO. Losing to a team without both Quad 1 and 2 wins would be less than desirable.
So yeah, but if you eliminate the first 3 games of his career way back in November he's shooting 75%.
At least pull him from doing any more Iowa games. He's a bad luck charm.

Stirtz did good on his drives and midrange, but 0-6 from three with 5 silly turnovers. Fulgueiras is not athletic enough to do pick and rolls against teams like Rutgers, he's being misused. He needs to set more hard screens without rolling and be more of a rim protector/rebounder/screener. Watch 17:10 1h, Alvaro fakes a screen and barely separates from the defenders, and we TO.
