Fans have been saying for years the need for a 3 point shooter to attack the zone defense.Hernandez needs more playing time.

Halftime RU 37-28...looking good just need to come out strong the first 5 minutes of the 2nd half rather than let PSU creep back in

2fgs in 9 minutes against a 5-16 team...why Hernandez has not played in the 2nd half is insane

A game of turnovers.Rutgers is shooting bricks. Penn State now leads 44-42 with 12 minutes to play.PSU has 5 wins this season which just shows Rutgers woeful performance so far.

Dangerous....RU 64-62...penn state coming back...this would be a horrific stain on the resume if RU cannot hold on...what is it with this team? The defense was atrocious the last 3 PSU possessions

This talented team is really difficult to watch sometimes as they play down to their competition. Stringer continues to make strange or no changes when it's so obvious. Why isn't Fernandez in there more getting touches? She needs to be the outside threat more especially when PSU went into a zone.

There is NO excuse for not beating a young PSU team like this by 15 on your home court. None.

Canty thinks it's funny as she misses two FT's. There's nothing funny out there Canty especially when you don't hit your shots. Nothing.

Agree....PSU is improving but the talent disparity is huge

Canty misses both free throws and they drain 3...not over yet

74-65...looks like its over....when will this team learn it does not have to be this hard...for sone reason they refuse to deliver the knockout punch. They better not take 10 minutes off vs Nebby

I'd have liked a bigger margin, obviously, but even in the best years CVS teams don't have a lot of UConn-esque blowouts.

More important: 7-3 in the B1G, and CVS is now tied with Rene Portland for most wins in Big Ten play.

If they play this lackluster against Nebraska, they will lose.

And yes it looks like we cruised to an 11 point win, but this game NEVER should have been in doubt. They were up by 9 at halftime, when they should have been up by 15 at halftime. And then in the second half they made it hard on themselves when PSU primarily played zone. Where was Hernandez Stringer? The only time you brought her in was when PSU took the lead. then she played for about two minutes and then you took her out and I don't think she played the rest of the game. This can't happen. Doesn't Stringer understand yet, that Hernandez gets cold on the bench. She needs her minutes and shots. If she starts nailing a couple of those in the 2nd half, then that opens up the high and low post for easy baskets. As a former player and coach, it just confounds me that Stringer refuses to do the obvious sometimes.

Beknighted, it's not the margin of victory that I'm concerned with, but the fact that the talent level on Rutgers compared to PSU's young team is not even close. The ladies continue to make it hard on themselves when then don't have to. Not until we pressed in the 2nd half did we regain the lead (we never should have lost it in the first place) and got somewhat of our mojo back. My god, we went cold and missed something like 8 shots in a row before Stringer decided to turn up the heat. This team just seems to play down to their competition and that's a terrible trend.

Take the win and throw away the tape.Rutgers situation for most of the season is that they are getting scoring from Scaife,Laney and Copper but very little scoring from the center and point guard positions. In this game Laney had a poor shooting performance but scored most of her points from the foul line which is the main reason Rutgers was still able to score over 70 points.

During the NCAA Tournament where its one loss and done Rutgers simply can't afford a poor scoring performance from one of the three top scorers.I definitely would have played Hernandez some minutes in the second half.Rutgers allowed PSU to hang around which is a bad sign because championship type teams know how to put away inferior opponents.

Who's Fernandez?
