Please, what is used to measure each sports’ fan base? FB MBB WBB Wrestling Softball all. Season tickets? Total tickets? TV? Who’s a fan but doesn’t go to games? Thanks.

I’m not trying to judge what’s a true fan. I’m trying to find out what say ru marketing uses to get a count of how many football fans? How many wrestling fans? Etc

Im in the thick of parenting right now, so football is mostly watched at home these days.

Ticket sales revenue and donations

I really appreciate this. To get this to number of people we’d need to know price of a ticket, number of games. Also you’d have to factor out donations. I’d also venture to say there’s many more casual fans out there who don’t buy tickets for football and MBB vs men’s soccer or lax. It fascinates me. I’ll keep drilling down because I think it would be good to know how many fans there are of each sport. Thanks again.

This is an interesting question because a gazillion Indiana football fans just spawned out of nowhere in 2 years. They were dormant for generations. They embarrassed other fan bases in all the stadiums for their playoff run. Makes you wonder what is any other fan bases potential if they had a season like that.

For those around in 2006 you may remember people asking for tickets to the Louisville game

I thought this would be about 5 day beards, unkempt hair, baggy 15 year old Walmart jeans and smuggling food into the rac.
