Playing a night game out West is tough for an East coast team. Game started at 9:00 EST, probably finished well after midnight. Similar thing happened to Iowa at UCLA last year. The league didn't do any of these teams any favors when it comes to traveling coast to coast.
Excuses. Teams travel well ahead of the game. The players aren’t flying to China. Big ten programs accommodate their players very well when traveling, everything is carefully planned out in advance. 18-23 year old well conditioned athletes can handle an away night game. San Francisco is playing at Tampa Bay this weekend. If the 49’ers lose, you won’t hear players blaming it on the flight.

Watched some of this game...very wide open contest with many long passes down field.
Starting 2nd half UW scored on back to back long drives that were 3 plays each.
RU had a 4 play 75 yd drive sandwiched between the UW drives
Fun ball
UW wins this games to move to 5-1.
They are going to compete for a good bowl.

How much have you traveled to the West coast. The teams travel the day before, it generally takes several days to adapt to the time change. I flew west frequently (weekly for nine months at one point) throughout my career. The first day is tough, business dinners the following night were always difficult. It's not an excuse, it's fact.

This weekend is yet another test of the effects of going west with:
RU vs UW...huskies prevail 38-24.
Mich at USC
IU at Oregon

I think clean sweep for BIG west.

I live in AZ and home base was Dubuque. When I would go back for 4-5 days, the first night in DBQ I had no trouble going to sleep at 10:30 - my normal time then. But flying back to AZ, it would take 2-3 days to get my sleep cycle back to normal.
So I think traveling West is harder than East from personal experience.

It's a factor. Not "the" factor, but sometimes a factor.
