I always enjoyed a Bill Walton broadcast, and had many a chuckle listening to him … unless of course I was actually interested in the game and what was happening on the court. For those games BW was the last guy I wanted on the job.
Wow hadnt thought about that. Would have loved to have big Bill call the game...and wax poetic about the scarlet-fire with lightning above in 81 at the RAC!!
Style … banter, tangents, stream of consciousness, some analysis, “conference of champions” always. And if the Grateful Dead ever played the arena. My family waited on line behind his at a Knott’s Berry Farm ride. Bill looked like a massive swimmer.
A good friend of mine knew him very well and could not say enough good things about him as a person. I even benefited by having quite a few items signed by him for my son (and me).
