Rutgers seemed better. The only area it was close was in the journalism world since both schools have names we know.

Sports - Rutgers was slightly better but SHU doesn't have football. There are at least 10 guys from Rutgers that contribute each week in the NFL plus others down on the depth chart.

Undergrad vs grad - Some of SHU's prominent alums received Law and other grad degrees and not undergrad degrees. There are a few from the list for Rutgers but most of our attended as an undergrad.

sorry I do not do slideshows...just in the entertainment business alone, I think RU demolishes Seton Hall

Is there anything more annoying than slide shows? Popups, ads, cookies, etc. Moreover, they are never as interesting or revealing as touted. .

Is this even a competition? You guys are a state school with a 60k+ enrollment and we're a small private school with 9k+ enrollment.

Two obscure celebrity alum for each school are the band, Looking Glass (RU), who had the hit song Brandy in the 70s, and the late comedian, Ron Carey,, who played Officer Levitt on the Barney Miller show.

I agree it really isn't a fair comparison between the two. That being said i still expected more household names from SHU than besides Chris Christie and Dick Vitale.

SHU has Robert what's his name from First Jersey Securities who was a great benefactor for them with the life savings he stole from unsuspecting old folks who were lured to his penny stock pump and dump scam by his snazzy commercials featuring him jumping out of a helicopter.

He was listed as one of the SHU "celebrities".

Is this an honest or rhetorical question? Other than Mr. Bridgegate, Dickie V and Craig Biggio, I don't know any of these celebs.

There were two others that played pro besides Biggio that went to SH during the the 3 years that they played. One I thought went to the Red Sox and other escapes me.
The catcher from RU is most notable for baseball
Frazier is struggling in the AL of all places
Also, the outfielder for the Royals who played foot and baseball (Young) at RU

Mo Vaughn played with Biggio and is on the list.

Rick Porcello, AL Cy Young award winner, also from SHU, not on the list.

As one of the posters mentioned it isnt a fair "competition'

I went on an extended trip with an old SHU pal...years ago...out west
many times we mentioned our education
when I mentioned I went to Rutgers often they would say thats IVY LEAGUE right?(mostly in CAL)
almost as often they thought RU was located in NYC
then
he would say "Seton Hall"...the most oft response was "where?" LOL

It was a running joke the whole trip
fun memory

Actually in our market research class (MBA) back in 1998 Seton Hall in terms of reputation polled right at the level of county colleges. Thought that was funny.

When this thread turns fully from Famous to Infamous, start the Seton Hall list with groin puncher Herb Pope.

This is silly. It's not even close. Just the sheer # of alumni who are in the entertainment world blow away anything Seton Hall has produced.
