The last portion of the game went a long way to easing some of the doubt brought on by the team's sloppy play prior to that point. As many have noted, the team was having fun at the end. It was good to see the smiles.
In just two games, we are seeing a lot of positives of what the transfers bring to the table. Osh was big in Game 1, while this time, it was nice to see Lasha in the mix having a huge impact as well as Morris.
We still commit too many turnovers with shaky passes and weak attempts to meet the ball. Offense is too robotic without reacting to how the defense is playing them. My new worry is that we're falling back into the old CVS offense when they would over pass til the shot clock is at 2 and throw up a shot or turn it over before getting a shot. When we got away from that in these more recent years , we started producing some high scoring games that opened everyone's eyes.
Our success of the Copper, Scaife-led teams, the CCryor, StasiaCarey-led team, and the Arella Guirantes-led teams came from them being able to score with the other good teams that could score. The defense is always a constant at RU.
Well, we have some shooters this year, so I'm all for taking good shots whenever they come available and knocking them down. When Dickson comes back, we'll have two bonafide scorers in her and Lasha, with Liz possibly as a third player who can put up a lot of points every game.
It's early, and they did progress somewhat over the course of the game, so I'll be patient and see how things develop over the next few games.
