It's a varsity program, for years it has been there purely to make Title IX work, and has never scored any Director's Cup points in the 22 year history I have tracked. But, after COVID we had a head coaching change and the team has actually slowly improved each year. On the old board the one yearly post would just be whether or not the team had any chance not to finish last at the conference meet, the idea of the team being ranked was unheard of!
Yes, the HC, Erin Neppel, use to be an top assistant for UVA. UVA's rowing team is use to being ranked and winning. This coach is no different. She has a good staff in place.
