Not a fan of rotating players in for the sake of bringing in players. Keep the five on floor producing or don’t take out a player when they’re in a grove (I.e. Williams) to keep a rotation or give a blow for the sake of giving a blow.

RU got outplayed overall. Gavin needs to play more while he gets his defense up to speed because he’s our only pure shooter. As someone stated in another thread, Cliff does not use the backboard to make shots in the paint. The degree of difficulty goes up significantly trying to make a line drive shot without the assistance of back board. Another thing, ILL made our back court look small. If Noah does not drive to shoot or pass or make outside shots consistently, he’s a liability on the defensive end with a big guard to cover. He will get abused. Like JMike’s athleticism and quickness though. He needs more mins as well. Simpson played a bit lost today.

Bad loss against a very good team at home.

I think Edey and Bouie played like all but 3-5 minutes last night. We play too many guys who can't play too many minutes, and Pike still always takes the hot hand out. Today it was Austin Williams. Stop.

Look at the effort Pike demands on D. It’s exhausting. You have to substitute.

What effort were you seeing today?

You’re joking, right? Full court pressure and constant scrambling help defense. It is exhausting. The loss today has nothing to do with effort and everything with personnel and Pike’s total negligence when they it comes to coaching anything on offense

Illinois shot 43% from 3 and we got outrebounded 49-23. Press was good on at least a couple of possessions but this was pitiful as a whole

I pressed the whole game with seven kids. 17-20 year olds in basketball shape don't get that tired unless there is something physically wrong with them.

Good coaches make you pay for pressure, especially if you continue to press with the same press.

And we had to pressure because we were getting crushed from the start. Horrible effort today that they’ll hopefully learn from
