I'm a proud Nazareth Academy alum. I also root for my tax dollars, both past and present (Glenbard North and Hampshire), and the CPS.

That said, I'm a huge fan of Illinois prep football. I don't hate any two teams 😁. I love all the storied programs.

Lately it's been Montini, Naz and Rochester.

Keep a close eye on SHG, South Elgin and Sycamore and previously a fan of Driscoll.

Reasons...

Montini and Naz, lived there
Rochester and SHG, like the Leonard's
Sycamore, one of states most underrated, not talked about teams.
South Elgin, QB Karpowicz
Driscoll, another Christian Brothers school like Montini.

CG. Played there in the 80’s and my kids go there now. Moved away after college and came back 20 years ago and I love the community.

Palatine.

Two of my sons played football there, and have lived in the PHS district since 1989... Bleed Scarlett and Grey😃

Maine East.

It's my high school alma mater. Hoping one day they win again.

Joliet Catholic.

Played there years ago. Have had 5 kids go through there, the youngest currently on the team. Have followed them pretty close for the last 35 years.

I also root for the JT teams. Local school where I know a lot of people.

Last few years I have rooted for Hinsdale Central. Have a buddy who's kids play there, so I follow them.

Also pull for MC, like/respect the tradition and know some good people from there.

This will be my 37th year going to Tiger games, I went to school there and played on two state championship teams, my father was on the staff for 10 years and my kids will all go there so I'm kind of stuck at this point. By my rough estimate I have seen 325 games in person.

I follow most of the DuPage County teams, GBW and NC can still bite me.

Carmel Catholic.

I grew up closer to LZ/Barrington/Cary-Grove HS's, and we could have easily moved into one of those districts, but my blue-collar folks (who went to public schools their entire lives) worked hard to put myself and three siblings through Carmel Catholic.
I am forever grateful.
I follow CC football and Girls VB. Two great sports!
Patiently waiting for CC to turn around FB. Not an easy task with the new Admin, however.

Both my kids will be Oswego graduates, my son played there and graduated last year. My daughter is still there. I've gotten to know the coaches very well over the years, and my wife teaches in the district as well. I've coached the Youth program and probably will again.

I still follow East Aurora, because I went to school there.

Outside of that, I wouldn't say I really "root" for any other programs, but I do follow kids I know and hope they do well.

Sterling. Grew up, played for, graduation from. Still follow them even though the road has end up taking me out to western Montana.

I keep an eye on Rock Falls also as I keep hoping someone will get that team to the playoffs one year.

Batavia - My kids hometown

Moved there 2001, this will be my last year with a kid playing football, it's been one heck of a ride the last 6-7 years.. A lot of fun 5th quarters..

After this, it will be all about girls softball, my freshman daughter's not too shabby.. Will be attending some DIII baseball and football games too..

Shout out to all the old mid 80"s NCIC football and hoop players out there.. Noticed someone mention the conference..

All.... SHG. (alumnus of Griffin) Why? Besides the obvious because everyone hates us. Looking "forward" to getting rudely treated in week three by fan(s) for the opposing team. Don't park there! Take down that flag! Blah, blah, blah. Ratsy

My grandson played for Montini. I went to St. Rita but did not graduate from there. I root for both schools and also all CC league teams not playing my favorites. I attended all of the Montini games for 5 years and didn't go to any last spring. Looking forward to attending some attending Montini games. Also root for Coal City and Plainfield South teams.

Grew up in Glen Ellyn going to games at the best setting in Illinois. Played a different sport in high school so did not go to many while I was attending Glenbard West. Favorite game was a road win at Grange Field in 97. To this day I still hate everything about Wheaton.

I started following Rochester in 2009. We’d moved into the district before that but my kids weren’t yet in school. The football program was still new and not particularly successful. My wife worked with someone who had a son that was a big part of the 2009 team that lost in the semi finals to Metamora. Went to my first game in 2010. Second game I saw was Leonard Bowl 1. My son got a ring in the 2017 season, when they beat Morris on a last second field goal.

I am a Chatham grad and was really happy when they won state in 1998. At the youth level in various sports, I learned as my son played baseball and JFL there is no love lost between Chatham and Rochester. That carries over to high school as well. I did root for them when they lost to Montini in the 2010 state title game.

I respect Ken Leonard and always root for SHG in the playoffs, except in 2019 when they played Rochester for the first time in the post season.

Chicago Christian. Legacy school for my entire family. Mom, Dad, brother, sister, and me ( class of 1980 ). Wife's entire family went there too. Sadly as my kids have moved to other parts of the country this tradition will come to a close at some point. Go Knights

Neuqua Valley and St. Francis. One kid was a Spartan and the other two Neuqua. I have what I consider a healthy love for all things HS FB. Growing up in Ohio Art Schlicter was in our conference. It was amazing to see someone that talented live and in person. Seeing talent like that is why I go to as many games around here as I can. There’s nothing like Friday night HS football (at least until the Buckeyes take the field on Saturdays).

Hinsdale Central.
My kids (and tax dollars) go to the school, as do many neighbor and friends. Being that I’m not originally from the Chicagoland area, HC football has helped me make some great friends, which can be hard as an adult.
