You mean not first team, right?. Copper and Scaife were named to 2nd team.

With regard to Rachel, I think the media must have valued a small guard with lots of steals over blocks since NW Deary won DPOY. Rachel was "only" named to honorable mention team. So, it was good that she is on All Defensive team.

Must have been tough to name Player of the Year (Banham) since there were a couple of good candidates but her month of Feb was pretty amazing and hard to beat the publicity.

Overall, it seems tough to get players regarded higher by the media when the team is in the lower half of the standings.

That said - Congratulations to Kahleah, Tyler and Rachel!

Yes. 10 players on first team. Thought Kahleah deserved it. And Rachel only crushed the B1G record for blocks in a season. Should have gotten the nod over Deary.

this is a Midwestern league with Midwestern media and coaches voting. Maryland gets theirs because they win. I wouldn't expect many favors from the media out there, they probably just look and see RU finished 8-10. Apparently the NW girl broke the Big 10 record for steals so that was valued more. think one but not both of Scaife/Copper should have made first team especially when Nwestern and Michigan girls made the list. I would be more worried its two years in a row with no Scarlet Knight anywhere near the all freshmen team

Rutgers losing 10 league games was a major factor for Rutgers players not receiving higher individual honors.Winning matters in getting NCAA bids and for indiviual player recognition.
