Although it is early and we are certainly not into the "meat" of the schedule yet, this was the Big Red's second no-hitter of the season, and neither one was recorded by our ace Kyle Bishop. But even he has a one-hitter to his credit, I believe. Not a bad start at all for RHS.

Big game Tuesday as unbeaten 6-0 East Rock visits unblemished 6-0 Riverheads...appears (still early) but these two may emerge as Conference 36 top seeds.

Thanks for the reminder. I was pretty sure that East Rock was also unbeaten. To my knowledge, their only common opponent so far is R E Lee. Riverheads beat the Leemen 5-3 and ER beat them 6-3. In district play, RHS has wins so far over Stonewall and Buffalo Gap and ER has wins over Wilson and Page. But ironically none of those district wins have been of the overpowering variety. That could mean that the district is evenly matched.

Thinking back to last year (and I think I am right about this) they took turns beating one another on the road. RHS took an early 1-0 win in Elkton, ER then returned the favor at RHS in another pitchers' duel, before winning another close one in the district tournament. RHS then settled the issue by smacking them good in the regional playoffs on the Eagles' home field on the way to their state title run.
