He passed earlier today. Love or hate ND I always liked the guy, and he doesn’t like Ryan Day so that’s a win for me.

Ton of respect for Lou Holtz. Even if he did coach at Notre Dame. He was a good dude.
The court segment with Mark May, Reece Davis and Lou was college football gold.
I don’t know how anyone could not like Lou Holtz. And he had the guts to suspend 3 of his best players for the 1978 Orange Bowl vs Oklahoma. They had scored 77% of Arkansas points that season. He won 31-6.
When he was at SC, I saw his little sawed off self go out on our field and grab a lineman’s facemask and twisted it sideways and pulled him off the field. When they got to sideline, the player was looking out his ear hole.
I can’t remember the play or the player but I remember that arse chewing, and I guarantee that player does too.

No doubt Lou was a great guy. My Dad was a great public speaker, said Lou Holtz was the best speaker he ever heard.
