I just want to point out that Lieberman's career started in '76. The same season that Grentz started at RU. The RU program had been around only 2 years when Grentz was hired. At the same time, ODU was only around slightly longer. That said, this was the small school era, and I'm not sure what RU was offering.

As to Donovan - if I read correctly, she primarily wanted to join Lieberman. ODU's won championships in '79 and '80, before Rutgers did.
