he another walk-on from Co. 6’4 185 qb ath wr
See that line a'blockin'
Watch those backs go 'bout!
Heading for the goalline,
And a Touchdown there's no doubt!
Great to have another legacy aboard!!
I remember a picture in the world herald of the frost qb’s that year.... SEVEN!!!! And they were significant players!!!
good highlight reel, I am no analyst but he is reported to be a wr recruit, but he seems to be a good qb. from what I can determine, quick, compact delivery, even on the run, strong arm, nice touch, quick and pretty fast running moves. wonder if he's a quick blinker. If he can catch, he would make a good receiver, I would think.
I think grandpa Jeff Kinney may have been a hs all american quarterback, too, I think, as I was informed. (he was a qb at McCook).
Believe it or not, NU recruited 3 or 4 hs AA qb's in 1968 it seems. ( I don't know how many there were to be considered AA's, nationally, that year, but it seemed to be a lot). This was according to a high school teammate of mine who was in the Nebraska Shrine bowl and NU freshman team with Jeff Kinney and Max Linder, the Nebraska hs athlete of the year in 68.
And, NU got Tagge from Green Bay, WI, and Brownson from Shenandoah, IA, who were supposedly AA's, also. Linder from Plattsmouth had a congenital vertebral problem, from what I heard and had to retire fairly soon, but he was a tremendous athlete and great qb.
NU was, obviously, stacked after that, which was proven as that class as seniors are still considered by many as the greatest college team ever assembled.
Another Riley? Didn’t we want to purge the program of all things Riley?
