I don't get it. Is it against the rules for players to use social media or something? That video mentioned that doing them from inside the facility is against the rules, so that I get. But not following (no pun intended) why he'd punish players for using tiktok? What am I missing?

Because they were posting the TikTok’s from video inside the facility which is why they were punished.

might be one of the few things he's doing right
So

- Getting Dana H. and demoting Satterfield
- Getting a Top 10 transfer portal class
- Firing Foley
- Getting Eckler
- Getting Dylan Raiola
- Got to a bowl game...
- Beat Wisconsin
- Beat Colorado
- Excellent Motivation Speaker - So good that he has haters calling him Preacher Rhule
- Hit the golf shot through the uprights
- Held the practice in the snow the first year he was here

He does plenty good and if he wins football games next season all those things I mentioned will seem so much better. The problem I have with posters like you is that all you see is the W column. While I agree that is 100% what matters when you hire a coach, it takes the little things I'm mentioning to change a culture and get to where we need to in the W column. I swear some of you on here need to get outside and smell the fresh air. You literally just hate to hate

I'm a Rhule supporter, but if I'm reading the situation correctly, Rhule is way off on this one. No more tic tocs? What the hell? John Cook had his players doing tic tocs with him for crying out loud. Wearing Husker gear and in Nebraska facilities. Athletes are getting money out of the deal. Promoting themselves... hmm. I thought we were pro NIL? And in turn promoting the university.

And another thing if this tic toc thing is so awful.... we've got millions in yearly salary going to football administration, coaches, assistants, hell I think they even have a guy listed as "court jester" making $80 k. And Rhule himself needs to discover this on this own? What the hell are the rest of those layabouts doing? Let the kids do tic tocs and let the some of those six figure sluggards monitor it (or delegate it to an underling).

He talked about in McAfee - it is a rule of no videoing in the facility. Some players went against that and he held them accountable.

I thought he said no more tic tocs. Period. And then apparently he punished some freshmen but Rhule said there were a lot of players doing it so maybe only the freshmen were punished and others weren't? The situation seemed mishandled to me, but maybe I misunderstood.

Side note: The facility thing- is that a NU rule or NCAA rule? There's no way in hell that the NCAA is going to enforce something like that in today's wild west climate.

I’m sure it’s a team rule. On McAfee he specifically stated that it was a big no-no to release any footage inside the facility on personal accounts. So he said something to the effect of - if they think it’s cute to post TikTok from the facility they will see how cute it is…

Not letting players have Tiktoc period would be a horrific recruiting rule - I think he even posted something on TikTok through his daughter - so I don’t think he’s anti-TikTok.

Correction:

Foley was also demoted, not fired.

LOL @ Rhule holding anyone accountable

We’ve seen a QB go rogue in the huddle on the goal line under Rhule. Cost us the game, he started the next week.

Satt - still here
Foley - still here

Good for Rhule on this one.

He isn't banning social media, if players violate rules they need to be held accountable. Keep it up.

Now hold players accountable if they are late to meetings or practices.

Video linked in OP said there were 35 players using it and ONE was doing it from inside the facility. So, maybe that was wrong. But if not, seems way out of bounds to me. Not gonna win over many teenagers banning tiktok

Put bringing back Phil Simpson as a full-time assistant on the list. I think that guy is going to be a monster.

In fact, I really like all the assistant coach hires this year. WR coach looks like a boss and knows DH's system. DB coach looks legit. DL coach should be hungry and looks likes a rising star.

what part of 100% don't you understand? paying a football coach millions of dollars requires winning games. winning games requires all the accomplishments you mentioned and making the right decisions in a timely manner. not after the fourth quarter, not after a couple seasons, not acting like a game show host, not cowardly running the program into a mediocre nothing. the guy at this point is just another overpaid "also ran". not even close to what the Nebraska football program stands for.

Man - we need some sunshine. Everyone acting like Rhule took the wheel of a playoff team and drove it into the ditch. Our program was beyond pathetic for a decade and we took significant steps with a true freshman qb.
