Talk about your all time spoilers.. jeez.Nebraska wins!
Yes. They had extra time to work on special teams for the bowl game after the regular season and they still were terrible.Sweet baby Jesus, special teams were certainly special that game
BC cut the lead to 5 after scoring a couple plays after the blocked punt. On the next series Raiola threw to Fidone over the middle to make a first down somewhere around our 35 as I recall. Fidone caught the ball, made a "football move" and fumbled. Fortunately, he recovered his own fumble. BC had all the mo at that point. If NU would have lost the fumble and BC went on to score with little time left, all winter and spring would have sucked. While the special teams gaffs are cringe, that near-fumble is the play that really gives me the creeps.Make sure to close your eyes when Nebraska is kicking and punting.
Since it didn't happen, are you happy? Don't worry. Be happy!BC cut the lead to 5 after scoring a couple plays after the blocked punt. I didn't see a victory lap. I think the coaches and the players like the way the team looks and have decided not to be mealy mouthed about their prospects. Raiola said the goal is to win it all, but don't we want the kid thinking that? The fact that such a goal is remotely achievable is progress in itself. Compare that to Frost's league will adjust to us comment when all he did was field one unprepared team after another. It's a great game to re-watch to remind us to temper the koolaid guzzling at this time of year. We were 3-6 in conference last year and barely beat BC who wasn't playing their best players. We beat Purdue, Rutgers and the worst Wisconsin team in a generation. I'm making myself sound more negative than I really am, but I really felt like the Nebraska contingent in Vegas was taking more of a victory lap than what was warranted.
I want to believe this year will be different, I really do.
I was pointing east at a stop sign watching oncoming traffic go by going north on a highway and turned left to follow the last car going north. My attention was on those cars and the turn, so I failed to notice a pickup coming south way way too fast, like 100 miles an hour. The truck didn't come real close to T-boning me, but I made an unsafe move and a few seconds difference could have killed me and the people in my car. I'm happy it didn't happen, but three weeks later I still think about it occasionally and feel agitated. Sort of like the almost Fidone fumble. Maybe I should be on some sort of anxiety medication.Since it didn't happen, are you happy? Don't worry. Be happy!
